    Step by Step video?

    Hi

I just got this game this weekend and have grown frustrated because I know I am missing something point blank and obvious and once I get an answer I know I will feel stupid but here goes:

I saw the videos here on "game play" but is there any video of an actual game, step by step from beginning and through the first turn or even a video that just shows an actual game, non stop, step by step. I dont know why its so hard for me to understand the rule book. The reason is because I am having trouble with XP. I know you get three ensign and two Lieutenant in your starting deck but how do you get more xp? I know if I want a commander I can "rank up" persay with the right cards and turn a lt into a commander but then I give back the lt right? Do I get to draw a new ensign every turn? Sorry Im just stuck on how I get more XP.

You can spend your XP to buy basic characters. Early game, you probably want to buy Lt.s and especially Commanders (but not too many, as basic character become deck clutter later on (vs more useful cards)). By the time you have 3 Commanders in your deck it's probably time to use other card's effects or your turn's Trash Phase to get rid of Ensigns and Lts as one of the important things in this game is to have a fairly small deck of the cards you feel you need the most.
Some Mission rewards, regular character effects, and even some Event effects will also give you XP.

If you use Starfleet Academy, it allows you to upgrade a card. An upgrade typically requires trashing the old card and putting the new one in your discard area (called a "Gain"). Some card effects will modify where a Gained card goes, but it normally means your discard area. Starfleet allows the new card to cost up to 2 more than the old, other cards that do upgrades may vary in cost requirements.

And don't worry, the rulebook is not particularly well written.
(do read it cover-to-cover, however. they "hide" useful info in the glossary and Q&A near the end)
