    A few card questions

Okay we were playing last night, and I noticed a few things on some of the cards that hadn't come up before (despite owning it for a few months we've only played it about three times in our game rotation) so here are my questions:

    - A few of the cards, Worf for example, they're shields say "Shields" and not "Systems offline" but there is no value. Is this a miss print, or am I to treat this like a value of 1?

    - There's a Vulcan card, forget which one, that has the ability text "Return one character card from opponents bridge to they're hand" (or maybe it's discard it don't know) - is this strctly a battle secenario ability? Meaning when we are laying down our cards one by one, I play him and say "Ditch that characater?" or can the ability also be used like an instant in magic, say, forcing someone to ditch resources or an "upgrade" to a character.

    - Do you have to explore, or is it optional like the RE card game. This is where we ran into some confusion. I get that you trash if you cant do anything, but does this come into effect if you don't explore as well.

That should be all my questions, thanks.

The cards that say "Shields" with no number are a misprint (should be "System offline").

It's not strictly battle, but there are few other cases where it is useful as it otherwise requires something to be in your opponents bridge on your turn (many more cards that remain on a bridge after a turn is over exist in the Next Phase set).

Exploring is optional. I recommend always exploring though, unless you have nearly no cards in your bridge, there are really not that many downsides to Exploring (proportionally few cards do tons of damage).

Unless you play in my group Our Space deck has at least 4 cards that can really mess up your day (Meteor Shower, Q (the 200 point one), Lore and the Crystalline Entity). There's a couple more that aren't fun either (Mind's Eye for example). But I agree that in a standard game you're going to want to explore as soon as possible (first turn if you have 2-3 speed + 2 Diplo).
