Thread: Hobby store

    Hobby store

I can't find any info on your web about the way a shop becomes a "hobby" shop. If i understand well, we cannot get the new set of promo cards without "a hobby shop" being the seller.

    So here are the questions:
    1. What shall an ordinary shop do to get a hobby shop status and thus be able to receive the promo cards from you guys?
    2. Can an outside-of-the-US shop become a hobby shop?
    3. Is there any other way to put our fingers on the promo cards?

More info in general on the entire organized play system for this game would be much appreciated.

Bandai guys, is there any reason you let me wait this long with no answer? Can you just drop a link or something?

I also grow mildly frustrated with the wait.

This is pure speculation on my part, but I figure that since Bandai's primary focus is on their anime and japanese-themed games, Star Trek gets very short shrift in the marketing, and its pulling teeth for Alex to get the brass to actually agree to supporting the game in any way, such as making these promos - which he's already developed - available. I know Alex has come to the forums several times since this was first brought up, and so he's most likely avoiding the question simply because he doesn't want to admit that at this point, he doesn't know. Again, though, pure speculation on my part, in place of something better.

The OP for this game is very simply. Stores request a Demo Copy via the online form found here: http://www.bandaicg.com/startrek/sta...y-request-form
In a given interval we review all the stores that have requested a copy and those that are verified as stores, will be added to the hobby kit list and sent a Demo of the game. After that, when we do hobby promos for the game, we will ship those promos to stores on our list so they can hold game nights or something else of their choosing at the store and distribute them.

Thank you Alex, that makes great sense and it is really simple.

That is actually a very efficient way of doing it, Alex, thanks for clarifying - now, just to be completely sure, I signed my store up for the demo kit right when you first put up that offer for the base set - I don't need to do anything else to have us get forthcoming hobby store product, correct?

Correct, you don't have to do anything after that.

I really love this series of games, and have pre-ordered both. I was disappointed to hear that the promos weren't offered with pre-orders of the Next Phase. Aside from going to a hobby store in the States, which is impossible for me as I live in Japan, is there any other way to get the promo cards? I would really like to get them!

Same here. I would love to have the second promo set myself.
