    Another WAR question...

I am still a little unclear what everybody does after WAR is resolved. Let's pretend three players all just battled each other. Nobody's ship was destroyed. It is assumed that the two non-turn players have stuff on their bridge at this point. Does it all stay there? Or is it discarded? And if so, are you then left playing your turn with only a couple cards in your hand?

Which leads me to my next question - if whatever cards you played do indeed stay on your bridge until the end of your next turn, do any "shields" stats (which would have most likely been surpassed in damage during war) then "recharge" for your post-war turn? Or are you shields considered to be "down" for your next turn?

After you resolve the war, the non-active players discard any cards on their bridge (cards in hand stay in hand) and they replenish their hand (draw back up to 5 cards). As for the second part of your question, because all bridge characters and maneuvers are discarded any effects they provided would go away.

I hope this clears up any confusion. If anyone more knowledgeable wants to chime in and correct me, please do.

Nope, that is absolutely correct, hankahn. For this reason, a player with a great hand can just completely sit out of wars - they're still an eligible target for their opponents, and they'll still do damage if they're using a non-basic starship, but when a war gets flipped and its not your turn, you've got a great opportunity to manipulate your hand.

This is all good news. War is no longer the hand-ruining bummer it used to be. Thanks guys!

This is a very good tactic, especially earlier in the game when you know you can't win the war, but you want more XP to spend. Play all the crappy maneuvers (which could possibly help in the war) and then draw more cards and hope you get that Commander in the last few cards of your Deck so you can buy that Picard that someone else just revealed.
