Here is the final preview from our “Survivor” side of the coin. Next week, will be a showing from the mads and bads from the Infected! But until then, our final Survivor preview is….
I’m sure everyone is wondering why Kevin, Mark, and David all got in to the game while the rest of the characters will be released throughout the year as promos. Kevin was the Chris Redfield of the game, so thats an auto in for him, not to mention that he presented an opportunity to try a new idea I had: starting with an extra card in your Inventory. Mark made it in because he was another prominently featured character, but he also allowed me to show the other side of Weapons with his brutish, melee power. David made it in because he was the number 1 character to pick when it came to solo runs on the hardest difficulty in the game, not to mention that his set of skills were very unique.
I attempted to emulate David’s modding ability (level 1) and his knife combo (level 2) as best as possible. Though this set does not come packaged with a knife, David’s damage can not only get obscene quickly, but his ability to pick all of the “Knife” weapons back up and play them enables him to be one of the most consistent damage dealers in the game. One of our testers actually used David’s first effect to add abilities such as auto-killing potential of the Automatic Shotgun, or the bonus Damage from the Samurai Edge. David may not be able to shoot the gun, but it doesn’t mean he can’t get anything from it!

Wow, this has great potential. I can already see myself using blowback pistols and discarding a shotgun for the extra explore! The knife power is useful, but knives really lack the kill-power that blowbacks give, so I’m not overly keen on that power. To get the first power after only 2 decorations is huge. He’ll be a rush character, for sure!
I’m sorry, but you guys made a huge mistake in not releasing all 8 of the Outbreak characters with this box set. You’ve lost my purchase of this set and I hope this somehow helps with your future decisions in what to include.
