And here I was hoping we would have an announcement trailer for RE6 by now. The rumor mill was running hot, but now it seems to be cooling down. As an anime character so poignantly said, “what a drag”.
But enough about the future, what about now? I have 5 previews today. 2 are out of necessity due to an oversight on my end, and the other 3 are my gift to you guys who slug it out every week in league play. I didn’t receive any comment cards this week, so please, keep sending them! I really enjoy taking time away from my desk to read through your comments, even if they are nothing but constructive criticism!
For the first two previews, I will show you the actual card, and then what it should be. I am working on coming up with a way to get the corrected one into everyones hands, so bear with us for now.
Here is the first 2 previews. The actual cards you will receive will look like this:

And the cards should look like this:
Due to this issue, I have pushed a great many of my duties to others in the department. Instead of testing with proxies, I am reprinting and using these cards each time a new version comes across my desk, as well as having an additional 3 people looking over everything. I apologize deeply for this issue, and hope that it does not affect your gaming in any regard. I am looking into possibly printing promotional versions of these for people to replace their old cards with, but will know more in the future. No amount of words can excuse this error, and I have been dreading this post since I found this error in our marketing samples we received, but I want everyone to know everything about the product before making a determined purchase. No words can express how apologetic I am over this, and if this causes you to lose faith in the game, then we understand.
These two cards were designed with the larger inventory play style that Nightmare uses in mind. Lonewolf turns a weapon into a mini flamethrower of sorts, while RCPD allows you re-arm yourself with a partially controllable weapon in your deck, while at the same time filling your discard pile to use an effect such as lonewolf on top of it. These two cards work very well together and could be looked upon as a strategy of sorts.
Now that thats out of the way, we have a few characters who were, ahem, “missing” from our Outbreak set. I’m sure you all have been waiting, but here is the “ladies of Outbreak” for your league play pleasure!
Yoko Suzuki: Yoko functions very much like her actual character does in Outbreak, swapping cards back and forth with her level 1 “backpack” effect, as well as being able to never lose a turn due to death at level 2. Yoko is very much made to reflect her Outbreak abilities, much as the majority of the characters are.
Alyssa Ashcroft: I was never truly fond of the special abilities this character had, but was told that she could really expedite a game with her lockpicking abilities. Her first effect is a reflection of the critical aiming she shares with Kevin in the game, allowing her to boost her damage if need be, while the second level ability reflects her lockpicking and allows you to search more rooms if you have a firm grasp on whats in your inventory.
Cindy Lennox: Time for another story: Every game of Outbreak I initially played was me as Jim, friend A as Kevin, and friend B as Cindy. Friend A grabs every gun, friend B grabs every herb, while I am left to do my whiny little play dead and coin flipping shenanigans to maximize what little ammo I had. I didn’t mind it, since it instantly put me in hard mode no matter what I did. Eventually I switched to George since I noticed friend B never picking up the red herbs. Besides that, Cindy allows a player to maximize their buys, especially with the “herbgrade” method of play that we have in the office, by getting +1 Buy with her first effect. The second effect is just icing on the cake. If Cindy has died a couple of times, its no biggie, as her damage will increase as long as shes at full health.
All 3 of these characters are being shipped out today to your local store for league play. I would expect to receive it by next week at the earliest. What do you think about these promos? How about the other two cards (the corrected versions)?
If you needed an excuse to go out and harass your local gaming store about something, you can always ask about this mat, celebrating the Infection spreading!
If your wondering how to get your hands on it, you’ll need to ask your local store to inquire with their distributor, as this mat is part of an incentive program with them (Hint: If you don’t have RE: Alliance, now is the time to buy it).
Don’t have a local gaming store that sells Resident Evil? Find one and ask them to start a selling now! Need to find a local store? Use our “Promotions” page (Link at the top of this page) and look for a store near you.
