Finally getting around to posting my thoughts

I bought this game in 2011 before I had a PS3 and put it aside for a few months after beginning a new game with the default control scheme and died at the first Majini rush. I managed to plat this before Christmas after Sheva stopped being so stupid and started shooting instead of running straight into dogs and bombs.

Since I figured most of the new characters would be killed off quickly and/or painfully, I didn't bother to get attached or even care about their back stories. I didn't like how some of the monsters were variations from RE4. The village to dark area to military operations was a stretch in RE4 and I didn't enjoy it here. I was also not a fan of the one hit kill monsters and death by hit in Professional. Being killed easily or instantly is a poor substitute for adjusting the game's difficulty. But I suppose that is the only thing you can change when any reset to a checkpoint brings up a screen where you can add to your inventory all the stockpiled health and ammo you kept from grinding in lower difficulties. Desperate Escape and Lost in Nightmares avoid this, but LiN is easily the more enjoyable of the two. You get all the nostalgia from another estate mission plus the satisfaction of seeing Spencer finally die. The only part of DE that I really enjoyed was killing the third agitator Majini with 2 seconds left for the trophy.

I haven't spent much time in Mercenaries or Versus, so the only thing I really hate about those modes is playing as Sheva because she's on the other side of the screen from what I'm used to and I do not like change. Plus most other games either default to character on the left or offer you the choice, so being stuck on the right is aggravating. Overall I had fun with the game but will not enjoy grinding through Mercs or versus for enough points to buy all the bonuses.
Oh boy, I apologize. My hormones are goin nuts. Now please if you would get the f* outta my way. I mean how many times I gotta f*in write "ice cream" on this f*in list before someone gets in f*in gear, and brings home the f*in ice cream? Maybe I should get a steak knife and etch it in your muthaf*in forehead! How hard can it f*in be? Ice muthaf*in cream! I guess that's the price I pay for livin with two f*in morons!

I found Mercs Reunion more enjoyable than normal Mercs because you don't have to start with lack ****er characters then work up to the decent ones.

I've played Merc all of 3 times, twice in the village and once in the mines, and never played Reunion. After I beat the main game on Veteran and AI Sheva ****ed me off, I put it aside to go back to GTA4, then Arkham Asylum, and all the other games I started buying at Gamestop. I only went back to RE5 after 8 months to finish Pro since I ran through most of my other games.

I still haven't beat the story mode, thanks to all the time I spent ****ing around in Mercs, Reunion, and Versus. I was really happy to play as Rebecca again, but very suprised at how badass she is! It's like the programmers are trying to make up for her missing from the franchise for so long.
