What exactly is in the play area?

I was looking and had a hard time finding exactly the answer I was looking for so I'm asking. Does the Play Area include your character and cards attached?
An example for why this matters I guess would be the new HUNK promo. Say he has 3 or more copies of Symbol of Evil attached, or a partner with 2 copies of Star Crossed Duo attached. If the Play Area includes those cards HUNK will get a damage bonus but if those cards are not in the Play Area he wouldn't get the +20 Damage. Another time I guess this would matter is the Hunting Bow.
So again, does the Play Area include Character cards and and other attached cards or not?

Cards you play during your turn. Ammo, Actions and Weapons used while/after exploring all stay in your play area when you use them from your hand. They are discarded at the turns end.
Cards attached to your character are not included. They don't shuffle back into your Inventory if you are killed or at the end of your turn.
