Suggestions for Drafting skills
My gang feels that the current skills drafting system has too much luck element in it.
Random pass out 5 skills cards to each player - Certain skills are definitely much better, so if you are lucky, you can get it first.
We generally feel that this skill system have decreased the difficulty of this game, 2 XP and you can get a pretty gd passive ability all the way...
Like to hear your suggestions for drafting skills which could
1. reduce the luck element
2. encourage more strategic thinking

You are supposed to *draft* the skills. You don't just deal out 5 to each player and choose three to use.
1. Each player is dealt 5 skils.
2. Each player chooses 1 of those skills to keep, then passes the rest to the left.
3. Repeat the process until all skills are chosen. The 5 skills each player chooses are the ones they can pick between for the three they take into the game.

I think he was agreeing to that, actually. At least, from what I gathered, Evilbear seems to understand the concept of drafting. Either way, I... kind of agree, but I'm not sure there's a way to do it better, unless you just remove the skill entirely. Granted, there are some immensely powerful skills, but with the exception of one, nothing is really that overpowering, since the insane skills require a pretty high XP count (Medic Lv. 3, Extension. Lv. Anything, etc.)
Of course, the one exception I'd be referring to is Reversal Lv. 1. That skill really is too good, and despite countless playtesting, we still haven't found a way to consistently beat it.

Yeah I know how the drafting works in the rulebook, that is why I mention there is the luck element involve.
2. Each player chooses 1 of those skills to keep, then passes the rest to the left.
If you are lucky, you can grab the 1st skills for yourself.
In my opinion, toughness lv2 + symbol of evil is too imba. (since my gang's playstyle allows players to draft 2 resources each).

It will never be 100% fair. That's the point of HAVING skills and characters.
If you want a "fair" game, give everyone a blank piece of cardboard with 100 HP and play that way.
The point of having the different skils is that they change the way you play your strategy. Did someone get Toughness while Symbol of Evil is on the table? Buy all of them so they can't use it. Alternatively, play to the strengths of your skills/characters and beat them that way. I think it's more fun to have a slightly unbalanced game where everyone is playing a different strategy than to have a "fair" game where, by the end of the game, all the players are using the exact same 5 card deck.
