Try Nurse Rebecca in Team Mercs and it becomes a whole other story.

Oh definitely I will agree with that. Unless your teammate wants to troll the team lol.

I have seen the Anti-Barry, and her name is Becky. Mercs Rebecca playing The Mercenaries and Tear Gas managed to lock him, and everyone else, out of being able to explore for any real damage, and I bet I could a better job of it with Premier Rebecca.

That game also made me want to run anyone with:
    Tough lv.3
    Giant Killer lv.1
    Weapon Master lv.1
    Custom Full Bore Machinegun x3
    Ammox30 x2

    Can anyone guess why?

It's either gonna be a 4 XP gain per explore or harassing other players by reflecting Red Ex at them.

Right in one. You need the 4xp per explore to keep Tough running.

Such a dirty setup, probably super amazing with the new Chris so you can thin out the deck faster.

Since there's no tier list yet, I want to conduct a quick poll: Can I get some opinions on the top 10 worst characters in the game, currently? This includes all 8 new characters, plus the 2 promos. For my inventory/play group, consider the 2 following rules:

    1) I don't use any mode specific characters, unless playing said mode. Therefore, Alliance Josh, Outbreak Jill, Outbreak Rebecca, and Excella are disqualified from the running.

    2) If a character has 2 abilities (which means most of the characters), then they are only allowed to keep 2 skills instead of the normal 3. This provides some extra incentive to play the "bad" Mercenaries characters like Krauser and Claire, as well as older underwhelming characters like LIN Jill and Nightmare Chris.

The reason I'm doing this is because I'm trying to purposely exclude 10 characters from randomizing in order to thin out the herd a bit. Also keep in mind we play random pool more often than draft. Here are my current worst 10, and reasons why:

Premiere Krauser: The knife strategy is still really bad, even with the new knives.
Premiere Chris: Tied for highest health, but with a drawback and mediocre level 2? No thanks.
Premiere Rebecca: Wording clarification pretty much crushed her level 2, and 70 health does her no favors.
Alliance Claire: Busted once upon a time, but pool dependency kinda left her in the dust.
Steve Burnside: Some new skills showed him some love, but he still just comes off as a 70 health with no level 2.
Alliance Carlos: Abilities are horrible. Both of them.
David King: Not enough oomph, and much like with Krauser, knives are horrible.
Kevin Ryman: Guaranteed horrible starting inventory, and a worse Premiere Leon aside from that.
George Hamilton: Too pool dependent, much like Alliance Claire, only without the damage capability.
(unbroken tie) Nightmare Wesker/Sergei: High health, but abilities that amount to nothing.

    Feedback?

I feel the premier Krauser can actually be quite good. With the right skills and actions (things that boost weapon categories such as desperate escape, deadly aim, or the skills that provide similar bonuses) knives are quite deadly in his hands...he is dependent on getting the survival knife but all one really has to do is just make sure not to utilize his level 1 unless you have 50 gold to buy the survival. Not needing ammo to power your weapons is only detrimental in a few cir****tances.

I will not argue w Alliance Carlos or premier chris...chris level 1 is too much of a handicap (it was even way back then but now its just crippling) and Alliance carlos has just always been bad...in order for his crappy skills to even work you NEED a weapon that lets you have complete control of the damage...and we know how many of those there are.

And I hate dancing. That is one of my least favorite things to do. Other things that I hate are exercise, work, people, stupid people.

    A couple things about Krauser...

    1) From personal experience, I still have yet to see a game where he was beyond marginal. I had a friend who essentially got the ideal set-up in his inventory: 5-6 knives, Survival Knife, Desperate Escape AND Deadly Aim in the pool... and yet, his ideal turns were still only passable at best. He had a blast doing it, but in a nutshell, he just has no real reach. He's very much a one-trick pony, similar to Premiere Leon. The big difference between the two is that Leon has gotten continuous support throughout the expansions, with a decent midrange pistol, 3 more cheap pistols that are free to equip for him, and the new Handgun Technique skills.

    2) Did I mention that I'm fully switched over to the new Core resources (sans Green Herb), thereby completely eliminating the Survival Knife? Krauser's a victim of politics in this case, but I feel it's for the greater good. I did add the Burst-Fire to the Ibex Standard pile in response, so I may be convinced to re-add it, but for now, I see no reason. It's just a bad weapon that does nothing for anyone else.

Taking these factors into account (especially #2), he's arguably the worst character in the game, period.

Agreed on Krauser, Chris, Steve, Carlos, George, Claire, and David.

Mark Wilkins is super underwhelming without the Stun Rod present. I have him hovering around the bottom 10. Wesker (Nightmare) and Sergei are so mediocre that I'd almost rather have Rebecca or Kevin over either of them. Despite her low health and outclassed abilities, Rebecca at least makes me feel like I'm moving toward a better deck and she interacts well with the new Mercenaries mansions. Kevin definitely feels like a ball and chain around your leg in the early game, but he can now get his gun online faster thanks to the better ramp cards and trash effects. Don't get me wrong, he still sucks, but I've found I can pull out of the hole better with him these days.

Note on Krauser and David King: I play with Survival Knives as a resource pile specifically so these guys have a chance of not being complete turds when they're dealt. That aside, they just take too much work to match the end game of almost any other character, even a vanilla using skills. It is easier to clear out the clutter from your deck and ramp now than ever before, but these guys are so linear and knives have gotten so little love from development.
