Well, I won my store's event, even if it was just me and my friend (Magic's the dominant game there... by a pretty wide margin). Got Becca, Hunk, Wesker, Mercs, and once the mat gets to the store, the owner is gonna let me know.

I did an event yesterday, and it was a blast. We did four games total: Two preliminary games, where the winner of each got a GenCon Wesker and a seat at the final table. One game for the losers of the first two games, where the winner got a GenCon Wesker and a seat at the final table. The remaining losers were given the chance to roll, where the winner was given the choice of a GenCon Wesker, or a seat at the final table. The winner of the final game was awarded the mat. Everyone got Hunk and Rebecca. I took home a Wesker, Hunk, Rebecca, and mat. :-D

Super fun. I'd go to the Brea one today, but work caught up with me. Definitely will go to the next event!

Sadly, my store refused to have the event, being so close to Christmas, they were unwilling to sacrifice any room for the games.

Looks like I will have to hunt eBay and pay ridiculous prices for the promos.

Raffle is probably the most fair thing to do. You may like Resident Evil, but can't win a game to save your life. If some guy in your general area enters every tournament and wins every mat, that's no fun. Hopefully the mat will be available for sale later, like all the others have been.

Partially agree. I'm not sure that giving the mat to the top player is unfair, or rather, any less fair than one raffle entry per person that shows up. But it is a great idea to try to get some of the less experienced players a prize once in awhile and a random raffle is probably one of the best ways to do that.

I couldn't attend the event at my "local" game store (which is an hour away from my house) because I recently started a new job and had to work that day. I really hope that I can find a way to get Rebecca and Hunk, my friends and I play REBG all of the time and we like to have as many character options as possible.

Hmm..seems like that Wesker was pretty popular. Were there fewer of those than Becca/Hunk? Glad I was able to attend Gen-Con a couple years ago and get one there. :P
