    Nurse Becca effect Q.

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...17161240_n.jpg for those who haven't seen her preview yet.

Anyway, her level 2 applies to anyone with more than 5 cards in their hand. What if the following scenario plays out:

-I use her level 1 on my friend, he agrees to it and we both draw a card, so hes at 6 cards.
-I do what I need to do pre-explore on my turn without adding more cards to my friend's hand.
-Then, when I explore, he uses Uroboros Injection.

Do I lose the extra 10 damage on my explore because his injection put his card count back down to 5, or do I keep it because my explore was already declared while he still had 6 cards?

Per the rulebook (pg 14, Mercenaries), there are 5 steps that happen when you explore. Step 4 states that you total the damage you are dealing. Step 5 says to complete any weapon effects that might occur and also any effects that happen when your character explores.

I don't have access to Uroboros right now, but barring any text on the card that conflicts with these steps, I'd say that you get the +10 to damage per Becca's ability.

This is my understanding as well. Rebecca's effect occurs during step 4 of the explore. The situation the original poster describes is similar to calculation of damage for the Broken Butterfly, which occurs during step 5 of the explore (i.e. The bonus damage is locked in even if your inventory size changes after). The monster reveal and playing of Uroboros Injection occurs after all of these calculations, so her damage should not be affected.

Because Rebecca's effect is a constant effect, it is always checking for how many cards are in player's hands. If, at any time before the game determines you to have defeated the infected, 1 of the player's uses a card and goes to 5 or below, you will lose the bonus damage.

And this is why I was looking for the official word; totally the opposite from what the others thought. Thanks, Tylar.

Fair enough, but is "while" the term that tips off this sort of effect? This also appears on Mikhail Victor, Mark Wilkins, and Chris Redfield (Alliance). Based on your explanation, I would assume these characters also have to continuously have their conditions met in order to do extra damage. i.e. If Mark Wilkins somehow stopped using two weapons prior to calculation of defeat, he would lose his damage bonus.

Huh...honestly it seems a bit counter-intuitive to play it that way, but I've found that every card game will have one or two instances where play will seem counter-intuitive. Poor nurse...:P
