After waiting two sets for a new shotgun, I can honestly say: wow, that is not what I expected. That said, it's always fun to grief.
seeing as the shotgun no longer give multiple explores will there be another way to obtain extra explores? i know the extra explores made the previous shotguns OP but without the ability to explore more often how are we supposed to catch up to someone ahead of us other then hoping we get lucky with high decoration infected?
Its different, to say the least. Kinda like Premier Rebecca, only in weapon form.
I'm still waiting to hear more about Nurse Rebecca and Reaper Hunk, and hopefully even Gencon Wesker.
I'm not sure how the Shotguns helped you catch up. The player in the league probably has a similar deck to yours, including the shotguns. Also, I don't think that it was the +1 explore that made the shotguns so efficient. It was the chaining of multiple +multi-draw and +action cards. If you always only had 5-6 cards each round, it would severely limit the effectiveness of any weapon. Then again, you will need more cards to do enough damage to defeat the boss also.
I like this shotgun. The ammo:dmg is actually pretty good, but not too good. The effect looks like its going to be alot of fun, though I think it will end up being the same ammox10 card being passed around the table anyways. The player to get the most of these shotguns will have a distinct advantage though.
A solid weapon, although it may have an annoying side effect of starting a ping-pong game of Ammo x 10 swapping. Reminds me a bit of the Single-Shot Rifle, where its effect is obnoxious enough that other players are almost compelled to buy it as well. Not sure how much I like that, but I applaud the interactive design.
Cool, now my Premier grenades won't feel so alone in their unused space in the box, XD
Mild sarcasm aside, damage & appearance looks cool, but since we don't do versus mechanics often, we probably won't use it or won't use the effect depending on what we decide for house rule.
I hope that last bit was a hint at promos.![]()
Do you mean your group doesn't tend to use cards like Uroboros Injection that mess with other players? If so your missing half the fun in the game.
Or do you mean that you don't play PVP? If that's the case, this shotgun isn't designed to enhance that particular mode anyways as it only triggers when you defeat an infected.
People I know and play with tend to be very competitive, so no we don't use things like Uroborous / Mind Control very often. Yes they would be fun in a party atmosphere, but when most games tend to be two - three players in frequent game situations those kind of cards can be very aggravating / imbalancing. Someone can stockpile grenades and do damage to others gaining momentum while others have to recover. Just when recovery occurs they're doing it again. It's a very reactive form of play.
I like deck building games because they tend to be "my ability to plan vs your ability to plan", I prefer that style over "me versus you versus the zombies vs random factors" It's a preference thing, so i don't fault the game having versus style mechanics, we just tend to avoid them most of the time. If one player starts playing a versus style others have no choice but to do the same otherwise it will become really broken really quick causing ALOT of aggravation >> NOT FUN.
