Automatic Shotgun Vs Verdugo

Verdugo's Effect: "When this Infected is Revealed, if the Exploring Character's Player has 5 of less cards in their Inventory, this Infected cannot be Defeated during this turn." (Health: 40, Damage: 30, Decoration: 4)

If you were to have 5 or less cards in your Inventory, which effect would win out?

Verdugos in my opinion...you cannot defeat it immediately if it cannot be defeated.

That is how I have always played it!

I understand the ruling on the PRL and Laser as they do not reveal the Infected hence Infected effect never triggers.

However Automatic Shotgun and Verdugo's effects are triggered effect which occurs simultaneously. Does this mean that Infected effects are always processed prior to any other effects which triggers on 'Infected revealed?"
