I was about to quote the rulebook (which i see has already been done) but then I read the thread. Its a **** good point to be sure...I assume we have been doing it right all along and you dont get the pts for any...but you bring up a good point and quite the conundrum...Tylar should answer this...
And I hate dancing. That is one of my least favorite things to do. Other things that I hate are exercise, work, people, stupid people.
Well, I'm not wanting to start an argument, but there would be no difference between exploring all at once and exploring separately if you could still kill any Infected if you have enough damage.
Quoting the rulebook again
It says "while this way is much safer". It says that because you can still kill an Infected even if you don't kill all of them.Players can also choose to Explore 1 at a time. While this way is much safer,
you also require more weaponry, since Weapons apply their whole Damage
only on the Explore when they are used and can only be used once per turn.
When you explore all at once, your weapons essentially group together to become 1 attack, so if your attack doesn't succeed, you take all the damage.
Anyway, it looks like we won't see eye to eye on this so I'll bow out and wait for Tylar or Alex to confirm.
Its not that we can't see eye to eye, it just you keep saying what is already known.
It is very clear that if you can not kill both you take damage from both. That is fact.
The only question that remains is can you kill 1of 2 if you can't kill 2 of 2.
If not, why. (That answer isn't in the rule book)
If yes, can you only kill in the order you reveal, or can you pick the infected to kill.
You cannot kill one out 1 out of 2 because when you combine the explores you have to combine the infected health so you are not fighting a 30 health monster + a 40 health monster, you are fighting a 70 health monster. The line "Afterwards, all Revealed Infected that were not Defeated are moved to the bottom of the Mansion in a random order" is important because of an effect like the automatic shotgun which in that case would have defeated the 30 health monster automaticaly.
That is the way I see it.
Okay, in this example, you have 3 longbows (up to 75 damage). And Primer Wesker used his force explore on you, so you have two explores (with one mandatory, but for this example that detail is irrelevant).
Scenario 1A: You use just 1 bow, and hit a Bui Kichwa (10 life) with it. You choose not to continue with the second explore right away. Bui Kichwa dies, and your first bow is used up. You now have up to 50 damage for that second explore, with the two remaining bows. You use it, and get El Gigante (40 life). He dies too.
Scenario 1B: You use just 1 bow, get Bui Kichwa. You choose not to continue right away, nulling your first bow and killing Bui Kichwa. With 50 from the remaining two bows, you get Nemesis (60). He kicks your teeth in, but Bui Kichwa from earlier is still dead.
Scenario 2A: You use all three bows, and get Nemmy. You live through his 20 damage, and choose to continue with the same weapons. You get Bui Kichwa. 60+10 is 70, both of them die.
Scenario 2B: You use all three bows, and get Nemmy. Live through him, then continue and get Uroboros. You get your teeth kicked in, and neither one dies because Uroboros showed up to provide support for Nemmy. Also, you're pretty dead.
Go for it. :3
