    Ok about the Rules

So a friend of mine and I tried to play Alliance today. It went terribly the game was no fun and we didn't really understand how to play the rules seem to miss covering some things. 1st what cards can be attached to the player card. Also we just couldn't get any attacks over 30/35 damage so we kept getting killed by everything. Someone please help us.

Also the healing items the red adn green have to be played together to heal to full health do you attach these cards to yourself or hope to pull them together.

Why do they tell you to add cards for partners in but not really give you the rules about partners till the very end of the book and even then they are not a great explanation. I know you attach weapons to your partner but do you attach them to yourself too?

Lastly how do people get put have 2 or 3 weapons for an attack and still have enough ammo?

    A couple of suggestions:

    1. Try going to the interactive tutorial in the "How to Play" section of the site. It sounds like a lot of your issues could be addressed with a formal walk through of the rules.

    2. Try playing the game in standard story mode before you get into partner mode. Partner mode's rules will come across as very convoluted without a strong understanding of the core rules. Partner mode is simply a variant of the standard game.

I have done the interactive How To on this site. It did not answer a single question i have.
The biggest problem is what cards can be attached? If my understanding of the game is correct I am afraid i did not enjoy this game at all.

You have to have them in your hand at the same time. Some characters have an easier time of this (Billy Coen, for example) while some cards help you out by either drawing multiple cards (Fierce Battle) or bending the rules a bit (Gathering Forces).

Weapons are only attached to partners. The only thing in the Alliance set that gets attached to your main characters is infected you kill.

By getting rid of all the bad ammo in your inventory and replacing it with Ammo x30 throughout the game. Value cards that trash (Quirk of Fate in Alliance) highly as you need to slowly increase the quality of cards in your deck to succeed.

Ok thank you for clearing that up for me. I waws pretty much playing that correctly. For the base set up there is really no easy way to destroy anything since nothing hits for more then 30. I have played a lot of deck building games and it seems that this one has more "work" time then the others

Yeah, the base set-up is awful. The good news is you don't have to go into the mansion with it if you don't want to; you pass up the chance to get some early points and activate character abilities, but there's less risk of getting smacked in the face because you had a pistol and a knife.

Well my friend and I played for about an hour and got no where. We just kept getting smacked around. But my player card only helped if you had partners and his only allowed him to attack with 1 weapon. He had no chance of ever winning the game. So I guess I will try the game again with different players.

I also trashed every starter weapon and starter ammo and still kept losing the fights with the infected.

The character your friend had can actually be fairly powerful, but I guess it depends on the setup. Might I ask which setup you're using? Are there enough higher damage weapons in it?

We are using the set up they tell you to use for your first game and it was terrible. Neither of us could really kill anything.
