WIP Custom Expansion
I saw someone else making an Expansion, and thought it would be fun to have a go at it. All of the cards are very much a work in progress and haven't been play tested at all yet. The goal was really to make Story Mode a bit more challenging, though I've including some additional cards to even things out in case things start to look a bit impossible.
This link contains a visual spoiler of all the cards. You can click on the thumbnails to enlarge the images.

Now I hope this goes without saying, but I'm not trying to step on anyone's IP or promote piracy, these are just supposed to be some fun fan-made additions to the excellent game Bandai has provided us with. Obviously all of the Characters, Items, Infected, etc are Copyright Capcom (and I guess in this case licensed by Bandai) so if there is ever an official complaint or the moderators request it, everything will be immediately removed and all work on my custom cards will cease.
That being said, these cards will require at least one of the base sets to play with and some cards should be played with the Outbreak set as they involve Infection rules, but there are plenty of substitutes for those rules if you read around the forum.
There's a few new game elements here too. First, there are Support Characters. These are shuffled into the Mansion, and when Revealed, they come under control of the Exploring player. They function sort of like Partners. When Exploring, you can declare them as the leaders so they take damage in place of your other characters. While in play they mostly provide bonuses, but allowing them to die usually has a severe consequence. They cannot equip Weapons like normal partners unless stated otherwise in their text. They idea behind these cards came from Ashley in RE4, but I figured rather than making your helpless character completely useless and annoying, they could help out a bit :]
Next, is a new way of Exploring and Revealing cards from the Mansion. For starters, at the beginning of each player's turn they must roll one d6. On a result of a 1 (or 2 if you want to liven things up a bit) you must explore that turn. You may explore as normal and reveal a card from the Mansion. If it is an Infected, immediately engage it with whatever weapons you have played. If you fail to defeat it, your turn immediately ends and it stays in play (unless it's text states otherwise). Players may use Explores to Engage Infected already in play or reveal a new card from the Mansion. If you ever choose to end your turn while there are still Infected in play, you take 10 Damage for each one. I'd say it would be fair to place a limit on the number of Infected allowed in play, like 3 to 5.
There are also new Evolving Bosses, such as William Birkin and Mr. X. When playing with these cards, you only shuffle Form 1 into the Mansion. When Form 1 is defeated, remove it from the game (or attach it to your character to get the decorations) and shuffle Form 2 into the Mansion. This continues until you defeat the final form, at which point the game ends.
Many new cards also require counters to keep track of new effects. This is an idea I stole from MtG, but I think it could add some additional depth to the game. For instance, when the Leech Man starts out with 10 Health and 10 Damage, but instead of being defeated normally, he stays in play and gets a counter that gives him +10 Damage and Health. Additionally, whenever you kill a Leech, one counter is removed from him. He cannot be downed for good unless he has 9 counters on him with he's defeated.
All of the Main Characters were added in a sort of after thought, so they're definitely the least though through. Especially the ORC characters, as I don't know all that much about the characters. The Wolfgang all employ counter based abilities, while the other 3 are meant to be played along with the new Supporting Characters.
Also it should be noted that the Big Number in the bottom right-hand corner represents the Cost of Actions, the Decoration Values of Infected, and the Maximum Health of Support Characters. The number in the top left-hand corner of the Main Characters is their Maximum Health, the big numbers in the squares on the right are the levels and the small numbers in the circles are the Decorations required to reach that level. Sorry, but I'm temporarily using Magic the Gathering templates to make the rough drafts for all the cards, so some stuff doesn't look quite right.
Like I said, this stuff hasn't been tested or balanced yet and all of the ideas are very rough. I would love everyone's input so we can try and make this a fun addition while we wait for the next expansion!
