Very new player

Hi all,
As title of post says I'm very new to this, only bought the Alliance edition this morning. At the moment I have one main question re the zero cost resource items.
If for any reason I wanted to buy a 10 bullet/gold ammo card or zero cost knife how does it work ?
I know that you can have only one buy action but I a believe I can buy more than 1 card if I have the gold, handgun and ammo at a total of 40 gold but can I purchase the free ammo , how much etc
Sorry if this is a bit obvious but I seem to be missing something, if I can buy more than 1 card then what is stopping me buying up the zero cost ammo?

Nope, you can only buy one card per "Buy" you have; if you want to buy more than one card a turn, you'll need actions or special abilities that give you additional buys (e.g Gathering Forces, Star Crossed Duo, Billy Coen).

The other thing that should stop you from buying the 0-cost ammo and weapons is, in most situations, they aren't very good.
