Did they release any data on atleast how many sets got the misprints? because I imagine that info wouldn't be hard to figure out since they just need to see how many sets were printed before they fixed the printer. I want a general idea on chances of receiving a misprinted set if a person were to order now.

It is a fast paced DBG where you have to chamber maids to earn Victory points. Once 3 maid stacks run out from the resource area (aka town) the game is over. There are currently 2 sets out right now and it is pretty fun.

I'm going to try out acsension tomorrow. Hopefully it will be as good as boardgamegeek says it is.

Any one try nightfall? I got the base set cheap from my FLGS and have yet to crack it open.

That said I will once again point out that everyone should be patient. It was a simple misprint that was apologized for before the game even hit the shelves. It also has a very simple work around. Its not that big of a problem.
And I hate dancing. That is one of my least favorite things to do. Other things that I hate are exercise, work, people, stupid people.

I watch people try it out at a gaming convention and I was not to impressed by it. The whole point is just to shoot each other. Player with the lowest wounds is the winner.

I've played both Ascension and Nightfall. Ascension is a really good game and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have the base set for Ascension. The problem with it is that, if you focus solely on getting the base fighting unit, you can get enough pts to win the game more than 80% of the time. I don't know if the expansion changes this, but its something I noticed after about 20-30 games using only the base set.

Patient is fine. We have been patient. The set released 4 months ago? 5? Giving them the month of December off to visit with friends and family, that is still 3-4 months where we have gotten nothing. Not even a post about a few possible ideas still being discussed. Apologizing is all fine and I will give them credit for being up front about it. And had they not mentioned a possible replacement plan in that post, I would have been fine. "This product has 2 misprinted cards, just to let you know before you buy it." We knew up front what we were getting into. However, adding the possible replacement plan left us with false expectations. And that's the part that I'm not fine with. How long before its ok to start complaining? 6 months? 1yr? To me, there has been more than enough time to be close to having a plan in place, if not having one already.

So Nightfall is no good? Shame, I was thinking about picking it up to try out.

Just keep playing the game. Really, the fighting units are a lot weaker than heroes that consistently give you victory points every draw. In fact, sticking with just fighters is way tougher than you think when you play with people who have a sound understanding of the game's mechanics because it becomes too situational to actually get vp when you need big damage draws as well as monsters in the second row. In Ascension, building a good fighting deck can hurt you more than help you sometimes...

    Also, Ascension is awesome.

It's not that nightfall is no good, it's just too PVP oriented.

Tell that to the guy I played with who only ever bought the cheap fighters. Eventually he was drawing 4-5 of them in hand consistently. IIRC each of them could take out one of the main enemies (again forget what they are called) which means 4-5 points toward victory, thats if there was nothing better on the board to kill; really productive rounds for him was around 10. And he started taking the points from the pool much quicker than me or the third guy playing could. And when your grabbing in chunks of 4-5 per turn it only takes 25-30 turns to grab them all. Factor in the other two players trying to grab them and 25-30 turns suddenly becomes 15-18. There was no effect in the base set that could generate that kind of pts consistently or quickly enough. Again we played like we played 20-30 games with him winning over 80% of them.

Ok, so I tried Ascension yesterday and I have to it is a pretty fast paced DBG that is really good for teaching new people have to play DBGs. My friend and I played 3 games, I took 2 or the 3 with scores of 73 - 72(w); 79-102 (L) and 97 - 75 (w). From those 3 games I gather you can really play 1 of two ways. All out attack or just go for the constructs.

We only had the base set so I hope in the future expansions they add more card types and abilities. It was pretty fun overall but it is not as good as the other DBG's I've played.

Top 5 DBGs I have played
    1. Star Trek -
    2. Resident Evil
    3 Tanto Kore
    4. Ascension
    5. Thunderstone
