Resident Evil 6

Request to admin: Can we please merge all the video game subforums together. Having this many subforums is too granular, and it doesn't help that it doesn't cover all the games.

Anyway here is the first trailer for Resident Evil 6.

I'm worried. It's too early to say, clearly, but this game just doesn't feel like RE to me. It looks like Call of Duty and Gears of War combined. It's got that 'SUPER ACTION PACKED BALLS TO THE WALL' kind of feel that I loathe from games like Call of Duty. Hopefully it won't be one scripted scene after another.

I do like how they are going to bring zombies back in some form. Excited so far but I do want to see more!

Gibb, try a game called Vanquish for 360 or PS3. It's from most of the team that did Resident Evil 4 including Shinji Mikami as lead director. The action in Resident Evil 6 looks very reminiscent of that game...which was awesome. If Resident Evil is sticking action-oriented shooting, it looks like they're doing it right.

I like Vanquish, and yes RE6 looks a lot like it but... I think we don't need an(other) action based RE.
Don't get me wrong. I really like RE4/5 but in my opinion they we're already a bit too action-driven. RE should try to go back to it's classic survival horror style and getting away from too much action. Revelations is a good example for that: It's much more horror than 4 or 5 was and I really hope RE6 will be even more horror based than Revelations.

And about RE6 I am very excited about it. It seems like they are really packing this game with something for everybody. Classic horror with Leon ala RE 1-3, Action packed gameplay with Chris in true RE4 and 5 style. And Jake Muller with something new, melee-combat and being chased down all the time, Nemesis-style. Bashing zombies(or what they are called nowadays), with meleecombat will be awesome. Also seems like they packed this game with alot of different melee weapons. Can't wait.
