    RE: Nightmare FAQ

If you guys have any questions you want to be added, please post!

    Characters

    CH-034: Chris Redfield

Q: Does this Character intentionally have only 1 Level?
A: Yes, this was the intent of the Character.

Q: If multiple infected with 40 or more health are revealed, does this characters effect activate multiple times?
A: Yes it does, since the effect does NOT use the word "can" in it.

    CH-035: Sergei Vladimir

    CH-036: Luis Sera

    CH-037: Josh Stone

Q: If I use a green herb to heal Josh but hes already at full health, will his level 1 ability trigger?
A: No, since you didn't actually heal any health.

    CH-038: Mikhail Victor

Q: If I use a Weapon that has no weapon type, does that cancel/alter this characters level 2 effect?
A: Weapons without a type don't count for his effect at all, since not having a type is not a type at all.

    CH-039: Carlos Oliveira

    CH-040: Mysterious Mask

    CH-041: Albert Wesker

    CH-042: Leon S. Kennedy

    CH-043: Ada Wong

Q: Can this cards maximum health be reduced by the effect of MA-068 Hunter?
A: Yes it can, since Ada does not have an effect that prevents this.

Q: Can this character be permanent killed by MA-068?
A: Yes it can. The only requirement to being permanently killed is having your maximum health be 0 or less.

    Actions

    AC-032: Lonewolf

Q: this card says it gives +1 Ammo. Is this accurate?
A: No, it should give +20 Ammo.

Q: Does this cards effect work over multiple explores in 1 turn?
    A: Yes it does.

    AC-033: High Value Targets

    AC-034: Raccoon City Police Department

Q: This card says it gives +2 Ammo. Is this accurate?
A: No, it should give +20 Ammo.

Q: If I play this card, then continue discarding cards from my inventory but never discard a weapon, what happens?
A: You will eventually discard your entire inventory. You do not shuffle your discard pile back into your inventory until you are forced to draw a card due to an effect.

    AC-035: PDA

Q: If I have less than 3 cards in my Inventory, what do I do?
A: PDA says that you must look at up to the top 3, meaning 1 or 2 is viable as well. You can also look at 0 if you wish. However, if you do look at any cards, you must trash 1 of them, per the card effect.

Q: Lets say I look at 3 cards and trash 1 of them. Can I move 1 to the bottom of my inventory and 1 to the top?
A: No, you must move both to either the top or the bottom in any order.

    AC-036: Toe to Toe

    AC-037: A Gift?

Q: How does this card work?
A: You play it, apply the bonus icons first, then the effect text. So you would draw 2 cards, then discard your inventory.

    AC-038: Mind Control

Q: What if I use this card and the only Action in my opponent's hand is AC-041 Symbol of Evil?
A: You would only be able to apply the bonus icons twice, but wouldn't be able to attach the card, since you are only applying the effect but do not control the actual card you are applying. This same ruling applies to any card that requires you to "Trash it", "Attach it", or any other manipulation of a card you do not actually control. Examples include AC-031 The Gathering Darkness, AC-030 Returned Favor, and any cards that would attach to your partner (AC-013, AC-014, AC-020)

    AC-039: Long Awaited Dawn

    AC-040: Vengeful Intention

Q: What happens if I play two of these in a turn?
A: When you play the first one, the effect would apply, and you would take 10 damage. When you play the second one, the first one would hit you for 10 damage, then the second one would hit you for 10 damage. Every action you play afterwards would deal 20 damage to you, an instance of 10 damage from each copy played.

    AC-041: Symbol of Evil

Q: How exactly does this card work?
A: When you play it, you attach it to your Character. Then, at the beginning of each of your turns, that character takes 10 damage and you get +1 card. However, if your health is 10 or less, the card trashes itself. This card is great for people who want to draw extra cards, but who don't want to dedicate actions every turn to doing so.

Q: What if I use AC-038 Mind Control and the only action in my opponents hand is this card?
A: You would only be able to apply the bonus icons twice, but wouldn't be able to attach the card, since you are only applying the effect but do not control the actual card you are applying. This same ruling applies to any card that requires you to "Trash it", "Attach it", or any other manipulation of a card you do not actually control. Examples include AC-031 The Gathering Darkness, AC-030 Returned Favor, and any cards that would attach to your partner (AC-013, AC-014, AC-020)

    Weapons

    WE-032: Silver Ghost

Q: How does this Weapon work?
A: You play it, as normal, when you Explore, and it gives you the noted bonus' when you use it.

Q: If I use this Weapon with CH-002 Leon Kennedy's effect, can I use it twice and get +2 cards and +2 Actions?
A: Yes you can! CH-002 enables a player to use a weapon twice, meaning that as long as you can pay its ammo requirement twice, you will get its effect twice.

    WE-033: Punisher

Q: How does this Weapon work?
A: You play it, as normal, when you Explore, and it gives you the noted bonus' when you use it.

Q: If I use this Weapon with CH-002 Leon Kennedy's effect, can I use it twice and get +4 cards and +2 Actions?
A: Yes you can! CH-002 enables a player to use a weapon twice, meaning that as long as you can pay its ammo requirement twice, you will get its effect twice.

    WE-034: Mine Thrower

    WE-035: Broken Butterfly

Q: Is this Weapon's Damage only during the turn it is played or is the +20 permanent?
A: Only during the turn it is played.

Q: Is this cards effect always checked, or only during step 5 of the explore option?
A: It is only checked on Step 5 of the Explore option. If, during the course of the exploration, you lose your >10 card inventory, you still keep the +20 Damage during the turn.

WE-036: Single Shot Rifle w/ Scope

    WE-037: Special Ops Rifle

    WE-038: Machine Pistol w/ Stock

    WE-039: Gangster's Machine Gun

    WE-040: Flashbang

Q: Does this Weapon's effect last only during the explore it is used?
    A: Yes it does.

Q: Does this Weapon's effect last for every Explore during that turn?
    A: Yes it does.

Q: Does this Weapon's effect lower the printed Damage or effect damage to 0, or both?
A: It will lower both effect and printed Damage to 0.

    WE-041: HE Grenade

    WE-042: Incendiary Grenade

Can we get another look at this one? I found this clarification on Trashing from an official mod in another thread:

    http://www.bandai.com/residentevil/f...t=jill+grenade

Since the item is trashed immediately after use, I would think that its Effect would expire. Therefore using a Flashbang and revealing multiple Infected, I'd agree with this. But when Exploring, defeating revealed Infected, and then choosing to Explore again with different weapons, I'd think that the Flashbang was trashed and its Effect expired.

Looking back on this post I realize this is an awfully minor quibble and probably just my QA impulse (14 years in videogames) taking on a darkly OCD tint. But yeah, noticed it, pointing it out.

    Mansion

    MA-054: Osmund Saddler

    MA-055: Bitores Mendez

Q: What if I defeat this Infected in hard more? Do I get two extra turns?
A: Yes you do. Per the hard mode rules, you apply the effect twice.

    MA-056: Regenerator

Q: How does this card interact with Claire Redfield CH-020?
A: It doesn't. CH-020 gives itself damage while MA-056 lowers the damage on weapons that are being used.

    MA-057: Jack Krauser

    MA-058: Colmillos

    MA-059: Militia (Flail)

    MA-060: Militia (Stun Rod)

    MA-061: Militia (Rocket Launcher)

    MA-062: Novistador

Q: What if I am exploring multiple times and reveal this infected, but I have 3 or more Actions in my Play Area?
A: This means that any revealed infected cannot be defeated, since you must defeat all infected that are revealed in order to get them all.

    MA-063: Zombie Security Guard

    MA-064: Zombie Technician

    MA-065: Verdugo

Q: What if I am exploring multiple times and reveal this infected, but I have 5 or less cards in my Inventory?
A: This means that any revealed infected cannot be defeated, since you must defeat all infected that are revealed in order to get them all.

    MA-066: Ivy

    MA-067: Neptune

Q: Does the effect mean if my character is dealing 30 or more Damage or if they have 30 or more Damage on them?
A: The effect will activate if the exploring character has 30 or more Damage on them.

    MA-068: Hunter

Q: What happens if players are tied for highest decorations?
A: Nothing happens, since no player has the highest decoration count.

Q: Can this cards effect lower CH-043 Ada Wong's Health?
A: Yes it can, as Ada has no effect stating that her max health cannot be reduced.

Q: Can this cards effect permanently kill CH-043 Ada Wong?
A: Yes it can, since Adas maximum health would be 0 or less, which is the only rule requiring a character to be permanently killed.

Q: What if the player's character with the most decorations is dead/permanently defeated (upside down)?
A: Anytime a character is upside down, its player and that character are considered unaffected and untargetable by effects. The Hunter's effect would look at the current living character with the most decorations at this point.

Q: If I am playing Partner Mode and I have the most decorations, do both my characters get affected by the Hunter's effect?
A: Yes they do, since the Hunter's text does not discriminate between main character or partner, only that you control them and that you have the most decorations.

Q: I have 50/80 health and I have the most decorations when this is revealed. How does this infected's effect work? How about the same situation, but I am at 70/80?
A: It is revealed, your maximum health goes down by 20 (now your 50/60), then if you fail to defeat it, you take 30 damage (now your 20/60). If your health is 70/80 the infected would reveal and apply (now your 60/60 since your can't have more than 60 health), then you take 30 (30/60).

    MA-069: Cerberus

    MA-070: Treasure Map

    MA-071: Hidden Treasure

    MA-072: P.R.L. 412

Q: What happens if players are tied for lowest decorations?
A: Nothing happens since no player has the lowest. The P.R.L. is shuffled back into the Mansion as it states, and the game continues as normal.

Here's a general question: How do you break ties in decoration count? I ask for the purpose of cards like the PRL-412 and the new Hunter.

If there is a tie, nothing happens, since no player is in the lead. I will add this question to those two cards.

Here's a couple others that popped up.

    1. If Josh heals while he's already at full health, will his level 1 ability still trigger?

    2. Do weapons without types trigger Mikhail's level 2 ability? (The only example that comes to mind right now is Flamethrower)

    3. I'll assume I already know the answer, but it wouldn't hurt to put it in the FAQ: If PDA is played with less than 3 cards in your inventory, does 1 card have to be trashed automatically?

    4. This one actually confuses me: Infected that "can't be defeated" when certain conditions are met, i.e. Verdugo, Novistador. If you reveal them while exploring with multiple explores, can other enemies still be defeated? (Example scenario: Explore with Six Shooter + Stun Rod for 60 damage & 2 explores, reveal 20 health Zombie, explore again, reveal Verdugo, you have 0 cards in inventory; you have enough damage to kill both obviously, but Verdugo can't be defeated, so what happens? Does the Zombie die and allow you to gain its decoration? Or do they both hit you?)
