Pc game version - ideas | help

    Hello Everyone!
I'm creating this new post 'cause the subject it's a little different, If this is incorrect please tell me.

So, let's go directly to the subject, I started planning the structure of the game and I stopped in a dilemma.
I was thinking on making a game who does everything to the player and the only thing that he does, it's switch caracter, game mode and play, 'cause the game would know all rules and etc.
But I had a different idea and a faster one, and I don't think it's bad, but I want everyone's oppinion.

For those who plays Magic The Gathering know that MWS (Magic WorkStation) it's a good tool for you make your own deck and test it on the internet, but it doesn't have any rule or something, it got all the cards on a proper database, the player chooses the cards, build a deck manually, and go playing.
When playing, the players do everything, nothing it's automatic, the player draw, play cards and etc, not like in some card-games that you draw automatically, if you switch the option of "Do Something" the game will do for you.
I know it's a little confused, but I wish of who have some time look at MWS and think. For those who doesn't have time, just answer, if you prefer a game who does everything for you, or, if you prefer to have a Framework where you player can do everything.
A very important detail is the autonomy of knowing the rules and not depend on the machine to do it for you as you correct and prevent you from playing a hand in a time of their game, thus preventing certain bugs happen, then the do you prefer?

And for those who wish to follow my blog: http://projectstars.blogspot.com/

Thanks fellas and sorry for the mess!

Personally I think that your first idea is more realistic than the other.

Do you play Yugioh Power of The Chaos ? If not maybe you should try. That game doesn't have all the cards (the last expantion of the game only have 200 cards maybe) but it's easy to play, have all the rules implemented for all these cards and brings some replay value.

Why don't you try in that way, at least for a prototype...

But I'm asking just for try making a prototype.
The only problem about making one like this Yu-Gi-Oh (That I had played long time ago) it's for implement the rules, but this goes from what they players will want.
But I'll score your opinion, thanks!

Why don't try to do this for a prototype:

1.- Make a character (with effects and rules)
    2.- Implement the pistol / knife / ammoX10.
3.- Implement one or two or even 3 infected, and recreate the mansion with these infected (try to make the infected without effect).
4.- Try drawing and exploring in phases.

For me the other option that you only implement the cards and make the shuffle core will be somewhat boring, these plataforms are just testers and depends on the knowledge of the players.

Anyway keep up with the ideas !!

I play a great deal of online TCG simulators, and find that as long as you are playing with people who understand the rules, everything is fine.

There obviously needs to be some "automatic options" though.

Like an End Turn option, which automatically discards your hand and draws you 5 cards.

Making it so you manually play down your Ammo and other cards seems, along with manually having to put DMG on characters, flipping the mansion etc etc is much easier then applying a set rule base to the program.

As long as theres a "Building" option, where you select which characters you want to be used when randomly dealing them out, and being able to pick piles which cards go in (When my friends and I play, we put all weapons of the same type in the same pile) and the ability to save your Builds and load them whenever you play a game, I would be extremely happy with this and so would many other people.

    Good luck with everything!

I'm inclined to agree with LMJeffJones. There should be some things that really need to be automated and then the rest can be either way. I don't want to have to tap (click) the screen 5 times to get my starting hand. I don't want to have to end my turn and tap on a 'discard all' button. The point to making things like this is to take out the tedium of the small things that need to be done. Keeping track of health/deaths should be automatic. Drawing cards, whether for starting hands or by card effects, should be automatic. Keeping track of the number of actions you have should be automatic. I would also like to see reminders of character effects as well. Not having the actual card in front of me would probably mean that I would forget that my character has any abilities at all.

A game that does EVERYTHING for you, knows the rules and plays correctly will be nearly impossible to do on your own (even big commercial programmes fail in that department and many patches ensue), so using a programme that doesn't do much for you would be more advisable, and doable.
You'd only need a few scripts for choosing resources, characters and the like.,

Hello guys, I think I'm a little bit late here because de date of the replies.
I have already develop a pc version of the game, it's pretty basic but works very well. Still have some bugs but is really fun and helpful, because the pc calculate damage, gold, ammo, actions left, etc.
the game is developed to play multi player games, because I didn't know how to implement AI.
I'm a rookie in the world of programing and because of that my version of the game is for playing "hot-seat" mode (just one pc and changing the player on every turn) and I didn't know how to do it to play online or in a lan.
Sorry about my bad level of English. I'm from Uruguay

Of course. I need to repair a couple of bugs and send you an email with the link to download it. I have to do some Instrictions manual too. When I have this ready I share it with you.
