Reunion with Mr. Low: Naruto vs Sasuke

I figured... why not join in the fun. We don't really get to play much here in NorCal anymore anyway, so there's no secret to be hidden. I've done very little testing with it with no tournaments around, so this is mostly a hypothetical approach that might not work well just yet.

Reinforcements and Sideboard are pretty standard.

Thoughts: The idea of Naruto vs Sasuke has slightly shifted since rotation to more of a rush/aggro early game, but still needing multiple ways to finish off a game as a single Naruto vs Sasuke is often not enough. Enter Sakura's Tears as three more copies of Naruto vs Sasuke (along with Naruto's help). The 4th Hokage can also be considered a "win condition" card as well, but I have yet to really test him.

This version runs a lot of "cute" ideas that may or may not be wise in the long run. I personally like Inner Sakura a lot as she can play aggro or defensive, and swapping into a new hand usually will get some form of Naruto vs Sasuke out there. However, I've also considering shifting from the Hinata/Lee discard engine to a Sakura/Lee card draw engine, as the drawback isn't as severe. Would love to run Tenten too but... yeah.

Not completely sold on Liger Bomb yet, but it has its uses with lots of Taijutsu users. Exhaustion is a psuedo substitute for Kiba [Wild Fang]. Present from Students may be overdoing it on T4 but I just like the card for obvious reasons.

I've still got The Stone Council on the back of my mind for the Pass Permit effect, as well as considering Shikamaru's Decision to deal with the Earth HC issue. Nice Guy Pose was in the deck but was swapped out for Exhaustion for the moment.

Anyway, just another way to play Naruto vs Sasuke. Every card has a reason (though not necessarily a good one), so ask if you're wondering.

Isnt Hinata hyuga(kimono) too risky? I think sakura kimono is better in this build.

I'm pretty sure he meant [Insect Barrage], which is the Turn 1 Shino.

Yeah the SR. Oops. He's there because he has decent stats, on element, used to create chump blockers/Hinata targets, and pays chakra that I don't use. Need to get my Missions into the discard.

Sakura Kimono is something I'm considering, though going Lee/Sakura isn't a common opening. I love Inner Sakura though. Pretty common to swap into a win condition.

When Hinata gets too risky, I just damage her to turn her off. It has happened.

I actually haven't considered Unlocking the Seal. It might actually work too. Thanks for the suggestion.

well with an early game wager you can do 0-3 chakra to get a br

You could exchange liger bomb for unlocking. I'm going to test out this build completely.


Have you considered Chakra Scalpel? 1 chakra and tailed beasts, sasuke and naruto are useless

Liger Bomb is too good not to run. Especially when you can go Turn 0 Sasuke [OV], Turn 1 Rock Lee. Wager Sasuke. Swing 2. LB their back Ninja.

Liger Bomb is the most likely card to cut, as you can't remove the win conditions, and Wager and Exhaustion set the tone of the game. Liger Bomb, in theory, can be really good. That's the difficult part though, because it is really good for the reasons MJM mentioned. But Sasuke [Solo Attitude] isn't Taijutsu, so your example wouldn't work here. I intentionally have Hinata, Lee, Neji, and even Sakura for Liger Bomb. Oh yeah, that's another thing; if Hinata goes away for Sakura Kimono, there aren't enough users.

Chakra Scapel seems like an ok card but not good enough in terms of power. I think I'd rather have something to pump as then I can use it when not blocked, and even then Unexpected Attack went out for Liger Bomb. Unexpected is still good though.

Seal seems like a -1 for a BR. Considering I like Stone Council, this could work just as well.

Things to think about. Hard to cut things.
