2 Insect Questions

Well this came up since I made a funky insect deck and played with it.

1st: Does Torune (n1417) apply his effect when the guy is already going to be killed by 2 damage from showdown, or does it pretty much only affect 1 damage receivers. Reason: I had a team with him in it vs. Cursed Warrior (n849) with them dealing 2 damage normally, but would he have just went to hand because he already died due to normal showdown? or does he discard because he has been dealt damage so his effect happens.

2nd: Does Gen Aburame (n517) stop Crow (n1086) from drawing his card even while being unaffected by my ninja effects because of Mother & Father being out (n1089) because Gen stops the actual opponent from drawing the card and not the card?

1. He only affects Ninjas being dealt 1 damage during the Showdown.
2. n517 affects your opponent. They would not be able to draw.
