*Josh - I am actually, but there's no block legal Genin Kiba, so my hands are tied. The new Kiba would be in my deck for sure had he been a Genin as he's an easy free attack during Naruto vs Sasuke. The only one I'm not running is Tenten, which I want to. I had been running Kimono but took out her and Hidan for 4th. If only the new Tenten had better stats, I'd likely go with it.

*chichiokurokrui - Looked up Strongest Genin. T4 is enough to turn away. Even the eight T4 missions now sometimes seems a bit much. I agree on Hidan, so no argument there.

*CaptainPlanet - Present from Students is pretty late game, and for your build, it won't be optimal. For me, since I only play Genin (and Hinata and 4th), it is a draw 5. Fire should just Warhawk for draw. I have the added benefit of it being Wind. Don't forget that it shares the turn with Naruto vs Sasuke, and I'd much rather win the game than draw more cards. It is definitely secondary, but has proved to be a threat to reload for NvsS next turn.

*Seventh Path - The only other person I play these days has Lightning/Earth NvsS, which works well with the added benefit of Super Slap. I tried splashing it but too much Earth made draws dead. Sakura's Tears is the intention of the deck; having six Naruto vs Sasuke. If I were to cut it, I'd be down to mono-Lightning, so I might as well go with Fire for Warhawk and Dragon Flame. Seeing 4th is Lightning, it can be in any build.

*MJM - I agree with Clone being too slow. He's understat, with the benefit of +1 and getting Naruto at will, which can be good but not as game changing as getting TBF from last format.

So I thought I would go ahead and post something on here letting you know Mr. Low that I had the chance to test your deck at a tournament located at a nearby store and I went undefeated.

I was forced to make just a few changes, however, seeing as I didn't have access to such cards like Sakura's Tears. Instead I threw in Konoha's Greatest Genin which worked surprisingly well! When I would pop that mission people typically feared that this huge 6/4 with a kick-*** EOJ was now on the field. I even managed to turn the Naruto into a 6/4 with Choji's Inherit so he gets +2 when he attacks, and than he still had his own EOJ if I chose to do it.

The first round I felt kind of bad though because I really thought the Water deck could have had a chance. However, with Paper and Liger Bomb you can shut down decks pretty early game which is what happened. Not to mention I blew him away in the second game when I started a hand that held two Naruto vs. Sasuke and by round five I won 12 battle rewards.

The second game I played against a Mental Power deck which is where I have to say this deck is the weakest. Having the Shikamaru and other sort of high-mental power cards is nice, however if your opponent can pull out the right cards he'll be swinging with a 12 mental power destructive machine that automatically goes into mental battles. Without that many kill-jutsu in the deck I was resorted to splitting my teams up and chump blocking until I drew into my Naruto vs Sasuke (perhaps some sort of search engine is required for this deck?) In the end I was victorious without the use of a side-board (which was unfortunate because I would have been running the new Pakkun [Set 27]).

The last game I played against was a Wind and Fire deck I believe? I wasn't quite sure WHAT I was playing against but all I can tell you is that it was a repeat of the first round I played, where I shut down the deck early game and used Naruto vs Sasuke for the game.

Thought I would just let you know what went down and happened when I tested your deck out. Once I get the Sakura's Tears I'll be adding them in more than likely instead of Konoha's Greatest Genin. Also, I feel that the turn three Hinata doesn't do much and I am currently seeking a card to switch it out with. Besides that were minor changes like instead of running Sasuke [Solo Attitude] I was running the Turn 0 Sasuke that as Taijutsu from Kage Summit (so I could pop off the Liger Bomb more often.)

Well that Hinata really only serves as a safety net to ensure NvS goes off without worrying about mission negation. Usually, good players would side into more mission negation once they figure out that it's a NvS deck. -just my 2 cents in case you weren't aware of that

As much as you think Taijutsu Sasuke is good, and he is, you can't say no to a 5/0 T0 Genin. It doesn't get much better than that. If you're concerned you don't have enough Taijutsu dudes, add in more Hinata. And if you're not doing the Tears route, I'd even switch Naruto first, or run The 9th Match. That said, I'd go the Hinata route.

While Mental is a threat, that's what the Bombs are for. The sideboard is also meant to counter Revitalize with Smash to push for early BRs.

The chumping until you draw what you need isn't too uncommon, but if you have 6-8 targets (NvsS, Tears, Present) as well as Sakura, odds are in your favor. I'd rather have Tears win the game than have the Strongest Genin out.

2 Suigetsu Hozuki [Dehydrated]

With Sabiru in the wings. And if Water rears its ugly face, Application of the First Stage is fun.

As myninjaway mentioned, Hinata is used to counter Mission negation and Kurenai, and has the side benefit of shutting down Jutsu too. She's a necessity in at least the sideboard, and I'm considering ditching Kimono and using just the T3. Note that she does have Growth.

Glad to hear you're trying it out. Wish I could play it myself! Fun with all the little Genin!

Hinata doesn't stop Kurenai, since you aren't playing Kurenai, you're putting her into play via an effect.

How is putting her in play by her own effect not playing her, if you don't mind me asking?

when you play a ninja you deploy it from your hand and meet the entrance cost, but when you put in play a ninja it does not count as the card being played because an effect is putting it into play instead of you actively playing it.
