Out Look on Set.......

Just my opinion but I wish to use it to provoke conversation....

To me this set is beyond lack ****er.....Unfortunately there is a a lot of weight placed on R & D, but they (ie. tylar) is the crux of what keeps the game going. Water supers...garbage...(especially the jutsu), earth supers....(GARBAGE, though cute)....wind super (better last format but ok).....LIghtning super (decent for sure) With out strong sets, player interest will decline and thus sales. So far there are only 14-15 cards in the set that you would need (for side board options or a few combos) No meta altering cards have been presented thus far.....no shift in top decks...Not a very good sign.....they did bring the pain deck back into the meta (which is cool) but I feel it may not be enough.....Decks to play are still Fire/x and revitalize(earth)..... War hawk is too crazy of a plus in this game not to play with no rivals and revitalize is too internally consistent(dat ino is BROKE). Since the emphasis is on competive standard play (not unlimited) strength of cards or themes that apply to that meta are very important to game viability..... ANALYSIS: bunk set......decrease sales....decrease support.....lovely game dissapates....

I say this because I want this game to be strong and survive....I dont feel its in danger at the moment but downward spirals start somewhere. I know Tylar has noted that he can crank out a set in 2-3 weeks which is awesome but since there are sooooooo many delays anyways I feel that there should be someone designated to not only EDIT cards but also play test and make sure all elements are balanced and have viable options. Mill is impossible, chakra give was a really not well thought out idea, -1/-1 coin really needed to be fleshed out.....ect....

Just my 2 cents....discuss....

Yeah, I agree on most parts, most cards so far seem like they've been done quickly, without any clear idea in mind and without play testing, just to take up the numbers in the set. It appears too random for my liking and in a format such limited in terms of choices as the current block, it's not a good thing at all. And I won't even start on the lack of series-related themes, both in terms of deck types, elements, card names and card art. Going to wait until we see the whole set anyway, but so far it's been disappointing for the most part. At least the starters make up for it somewhat.

Or ya know, Kakashi? Or Shizune?
I'll admit, set's pretty iffy. All the cards are either trash or totally nutso good. No fair in between, but really? Terrible set? Nah bro. You can think that all ya like cause I mean, your opinion, but this set will sell well enough. Even with 3 junk supers and a "meh" one requiring an errata to play.

no meta changing cards???? JI, kakashi, that water mission, shizune (i guess) that 4 broken cards....Im not just throwing broken around like i did with susano'o at least 3 of the 4 cards above will have heavy impact on next meta. also lets not forget about naraka, and like whirlwind that were reprinted...naraka obviously being the bigger threat, and as if we were done, there was a rare rasengan that was printed thats better than the super. I do agree however that this set is lack****er.....since a majority of the cards in this set are set 1 material.

I forgot Forceful Persuasion and the rare Rasengan.
Also, VOID is now back with the new starter. It's even near broken with this new deva path. Every turn you'd get a free negate, to remove 2 cards from their hand, a ninja that wins victories no matter what, and you forever shut off all odd ninja/missions!

Literally all this set needs is a decent super (or 2) and it will fly off the shelves. As it is, I want a box jut to insure I have playsets of the above mentioned cards, AND i'm gonna rebuild my void deck with a couple starters.

Though a few (non super) cards are strong I dont feel they do enough. Both rasengans do similar things so its redundant (though I do like the rare better). Jonins intervention is STRONG but its a consistency thing. If you get it late waste of a draw and you have to have it AND another piece in hand...that is very taxing on the hand and that will mean that its not very forgiving to the mulligan which ALSO means that it will not be the strongest deck for 8 rounds of swiss. Water mission is strong yes but water needs to be totally revamped because they wasted many of its playable cards for a theme that is trash....(try building water and you will see that the fog negate thing and chidori swords require your opponent to have chakra, while all of this set eats chakra.....inconsistency is not competitive) Shizune is ok....but not really impressed....Now naraka is BROKE! but its an old card which many HAVE so no reason to buy things....

Think about it this way....Susanno is broke on its own defitnately....but really does not see much play for numerous reasons. So really when you composite meta and game mechanics....its at best a strong card in the RIGHT situation....Just not seeing the fire. Yes you can make decks around a card or two but nothing that boasts the strength needed to make me want to buy a box let a lone a case. This being said I do agree with some of your points for sure.

EDIT: Just re read that pakkun and I am impressed....focused on the mental part then saw the reduced entrance thing.....! Ok 4 Strong cards in the set and 11 side board ones.....rest is kaa kaa.

Turn 5 Water mission that literally says "Discard all jutsu from your opponent's hand."

I had planned on picking enough of the set up to get a set of Kisame (Shark Mode), but not anymore.

So sad, I was looking forward to this.
