I am a female, as some of you might remember. You might not want my input, but I have the same problem with my, uh, mate.

He can't focus long enough to even learn the basic mechanics. I've tried with Naruto, Pokemon, Magic and Vanguard. It just doesn't appeal to him. I also tried to get him into DnD, but that was a failure of collosal proportions.

He successfully got me back into hockey, which I haven't been a fan of since the Dayton Bombers were around, so I figured he might like to try some of my hobbies... Alas, he has not the attention span.
This is the most intelligent/useful thread amir (shikamaru of hebi) has made in years. Don't shoot down a good thing.

Nah, my friend, you misunderstand me. That comment was meant to be taken as "This is, as of this moment, the only thread I see worth commenting on." and my comments may not even be wanted because I am female.

We definitely need more female players in this game. I have the utmost respect to females when it comes to gaming or in card games because a few I knew a few years back were chill and love card games

That's nice to hear. Most don't.

I remember Magic Worlds a couple years ago. I was watching the guy I was seeing at the time trade with another fellow and I saw a card in his binder that I wanted. If I recall correctly, if was a foil from... I dunno, some set in the Alara block, it's not important. But any way, I said to him; "When you are finished with [name of guy I was dating], I'd like to trade for your [whatever the card was]. Here's my binder," and I sat it down on the table in front of me. He looked at me and gave me the most amused look.

"Oh? You two keep your cards seperate? How cute."

It was very disrepectful and to this day, I remember every instance of that, from every card game I've ever played. It happened many times.

It's as though we're only supposed to be into a game if our boyfriends are. Then we're not supposed to have our own cards?

I'd been playing Magic for at least five years before I'd met the guy I was dating. My mother was the one who introduced me to the game. A girl introduced me to Naruto. I picked up Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh myself because I liked the shows and yeah, a male introduced me to Vanguard.

You can, or at least I can, blame it all on society. It's these nasty little things that are drilled into our minds since childhood. "Girls aren't supposed to do this", or "boys are supposed to do that".

Bah, I kind of went off on a tangent, but only sort of. Sorry about that.

The fact that you suffer through it and still play garners quite a bit of respect for you. It'd definitely be better to have more like you. What decks do you play if you don't mind me asking?

Thankfully, my fiance and I both love games and card games and nerdy things. I'm starting to teach her Naruto because I have a friend who brought his old cards and we're starting to play together though I'v been out of the game for 6 years or so. While I'm posting, is there any specific reason why I'm not allowed to post in the deck section?

I wasn't aware your left hand was capable of using the forums independently.

Or that it was female.

By the end of the year the deck dojo should be wiped off this site. If u want to post decks go under block or unlimited. Then deck discussion.
