My first one in MI, my home state, was pretty much a 50/50 split between in state/out of state (If i'm remembering correctly there were 68 players) some from as far as Pennsylvania. Thats an 11-13 hour drive. If no one was willing to make that effort for yours, well then the logical thing to do, both for business and players, would be not to have one there again. I just thought this was hilarious. In a semi-ironic sort of way. ![]() I bet no one here knows homestuck though so that joke mighta been lost |

It sounds to me that somebody owes Pyrot an apology. The whole reason this aggression started in the first place was someone complaining about his guess at the estimated attendance... which he was spot on about. Lot of time and words wasted over Pyrot turning out to be right

the point is that its a waste of time and money for both the players and the store to have a large event such as an sjc if people arent going to show for whatever reason

It was pointed out that a lot of the local people didn't attend due to work schedules. The problem is that:
1. This isn't really too valid of an excuse, as they had ample time to put in having their days off being switched to the weekends, just like ever other person who would have had to work or had to travel would and already do when attending any large event. Unless of course, 2. They didn't care enough about the event in question to merit even planning ahead. As such, that puts the area in question especially considering the locations for the Shonen Jumps should be aimed for a list of criteria, including - Covering ample space between each region (Not three SJCs in a row on the West Coast, instead having them equally spread out). - The hosting venue Already being in an area of concentration for players. You don't give a venue that: Quote:
Also, in comparison, the top 3 most attended Chunins from Quarter 3 were: Epic Games, Tehachapi, CA (35 players) Carta Magica, Montreal QC (26 players) Cosmic Odyssey, National City, CA (24 players) Now, congratulations to Colorado for their Genin event that had a PS3 as first place prize. |
