The state of yt v.s. naruto
Now my opinion does not matter at all around this website since I'm just a novice player but id like to get everyones opinion if that is ok with y'all
Our you-tube channel hasn't posted any recent videos since the coverage at the Va sjc and as much as people wanted info on the results of that jump(I feel that we provided enough), I feel as if we didn't receive enough feedback of actual interest in our part of the coverage. With that being said we have two chunins this week in our area that we plan to attend and I thought it'd be cool to get some footage from both of them but then I realized noone tends to watch naruto videos on yt anymore. So my question is basically is it worth making naruto videos anymore? Id appreciate feedback(positive or negative) or let me know what I'm doing right or wrong on my part to better reach out to the naruto community on what they want to see or ill just let it go lol |

alright here's the thing. i definitely feel you on the opinions part because i am a novice player myself and i started playing competitively in March and no one really knows who i am. i took footage of this past weekends Chunin's in Michigan and there were only 9 people. i met some cool people and had a good time -- that's what naruto should be about. so to me, i don't care if i record or not, im just there having a good time. regardless of how many views i get, or how many people are there, i do it for the spirit of the game and i could care less if its embarrassing.
its just that people are not as hyped as they used to be when it comes to videos because of the low attendance and lack of other people taking footage. but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. if anything, creating more footage or bringing people back who takes footage will HELP the community. people go on you-tube randomly searching for Naruto tournaments because there are rarely any sources of decklists to look at, or they're interested on who topped or just wants to get familiar with how the game works. so it still helps. i remember before i got into the competitive scene, still learning the game i would watch old SJC videos and posts from chicagotv, 2ezforums, teampandarap3 because they were one of the most popular channels that covered naruto. so we need more of that on you-tube. that's why i am starting to post of several videos too; i just made a 30 minute Gencon video knowing that not everyone is going to see it but who cares, its out there i had a good time and it reminded me about what happened. so yea, don't feel discouraged. do it anyways imo. |

I feel like we as a community need to post more videos. Why? It makes us all better when we watch them, and allows us to see what's out there and let's ideas swirl around in ways that just can't happen on the forums. It's one thing to say this card with this card is a broken combo, but when you see the combo in action you get a way better understanding of that combo and even the game itself. There's so much to be learned by watching other people play and i feel that if there were more to watch then the competition level of this game would raise collectively.
I think it seems like nobody cares because no one is really putting anything out anymore. The big name respected teams/channels rarely ever upload anything anymore and the people who do don't know what they are talking about outside of a select few. There's really nothing but trade videos and binder updates. So should record and upload your videos? Absolutely. |

There isn't alit of videos bbeen made PR watched cause there isn't a lot of Naruto players. That's all. If a small player based hasn't stopped you from playing, don't let it stop you from recording.
