Meh, i'm done theorizing and such. Shino'sDad kept a tiny little dot (as big as a laser pointer) of hope with this manga, that rests soley on some quotation marks, but it being Obito is just beyond dumb. Dumber than young naruto, dumber than sakura trying to be useful, dumber than him basically HANDING Sasuke power up after power up, dumber than any and everything till now.

Apathetically, i'll continue reading, but i'll be suffering through it, like that last arc of bleach with the full-bring or whatever.

When and to who? The last time we saw eher healing someone important was the sasuke retrival arc 2 when she healed naruto after his rampage. And even then that seems oretty insignificant. She then did nithing the rest of that arc. Next arc when naruto hurt himself with rasenshuriken against kakuzu, tsunade healed him. Next arc no one not named sasuke did anything. Next arc she healed nameless people and hinata. Next arc she somehow went from useless but smart to utterly braindead with her stupid poison kunai plan. Next arc she really only does medical work on nameless people during the war.

Her medical knowledge and ability has been worthless since the original part 2 arc with deidara and sasori. But that doesnt make mr angry. What makes ne angry is kishimotos excuse of "hinata would make a better heroin". Bs. Whether thats true or not thats just an excuse. Sakura could be a great heroin if kishi had even a miligram of writing ability.

And i dont take it out on sakura because kishi has proved terrible at utilizing characters in general. Virtually every character kishi has made has had mountains of potential andbhe just takes a dump on most of them

She just isn't. Not her fault, Kishimoto himself said in an interview with WSJ in japan: "I'm just not that great with female characters. I build them up so much but when time comes for [them to] get involved it never really goes as planned"

whats worse is that he's shown he's capable of this on some level. just not with LEAF kunoichi. temari and tayuya for example

temari, the first fight we "see" her in, she wins so fast the spectators were all "wait what? holy jeebus ona stick that was fast!". now, thatw as against tenten so...but still she trounced her so thoroughly that at the very elast she was good for a girl.

next fight, shikamaru. she showed to not be an idiot. she was fighting smart and the only reason she "lost" (she may have won the match but, come on) was because it was a, well, a mental power battle against the smartest young ninja we know of. its like, sure sasuke has a lot of chakra for a genin, but his chakra is non-existent compared to naruto. so thats a pass even if its a failure

tayuya has been in one fight and one fight only. she held out against numerous shikamaru plans and even fought back his shadow and she was only finally beaten when temari, a girl, came to the scene to rescue shikamaru, a boy. in which case she thrashed her easily.

and oddly enough theres a similarity between the two. something that separates them from the likes of sakura and pretty much every other leaf female we've got. they are "unladylike". they're tomboys. so much so with tayuya that jirobo berated her for not behaving like a girl.

and btw im not counting the new girls from the other countries because we've known them for like 2 seconds. also not counting chiyo since, being so old, there was no (and this is what im assuming is going on in kishi's head) "well they can't be good looking AND strong"**. not to mention the little we've seen, they fail too.

**admittedly a bit of a downfall of the tayuya argument since, a side from the hair really (which means almost nothing in anime/manga) she doesnt look like a girl. constantly looks ****ed off. baggy boy clothes. and a figure that makes sakura look like tsunade in comparison.

in the case of the leaf girls who are more "ladylike" dont necessarily have to stop being so...but when plot is happening or if there is a fight, kishimoto needs to stop thinking of them as helpless little girls. dang it, these are trained ninja.


hey kishi, heres an idea. put sakura on the effing field as, i dunno, a field medic! then even if she doesnt beat someone at least she can heal the ones who are. and i dont mean have her off to the side only healing them when the fights over either. not only can there be in battle healing like with sakura&chiyo vs sasori, but...

my god, that reminds me, wtf was with that. whether or not she was controlled by choiyo's strings for a good chunk of the fight or not, that fight, no, that ARC at least showed she wasnt useless. it showed she was one of the best medical ninjas in the world seeing as the entire sand village couldn't fix kankuro and she popped in and did it in 2 seconds.

it showed she had tremendous battle potential because of her strength where, even if she wasn't able to hit the enemy directly, she could be an asset due to pretty much forcing them to keep focus on her so they dont get OHKO'd.

and it showed that, even if she did need help (which at least didnt come from a boy) she could honestly and truly do something in the upcoming battles with the akatsuki. akatsuki, an organization of the most powerful rogue ninja in the world,s ave orochimaru. she stood her ground and did a helluva job against sasori of the red sand, a guy who is said to have taken out a country on his own

the sasori stuff happened, then the next arc was a sasuke arc. she, as i said, stood her ground against that monster sasori. yet as soon as she attempts to do something against sasuke yamato goes "no wait, you'll just get in the ay. stay back. he's too awesome" awesome at giving kishimoto head

as soon as sasuke came in and mopped the floor with "team 7", she immediately stopped doing things.

and btw im not saying that a woman has to be written to act like a boy to be useful in a story or situation. i realize it may have come across as that and that wasnt my intent

my intent was this. the real difference between the males and the females in this manga are as follows

1) decision making/dealing with problems
2) ability to succeed
3) screen time/given somethign to DO

he claimed to not be able to write females well, so i was simply suggesting changing one or more of those things would probably be a good start. and they should be changed to be closer in line to how he's having the boys do these things

3) is easy. have them DO something. though to be fair a lot of guys are getting the shaft here too. he simply sucks at utilizing characters in general.

2) would probably solve itself if 3 was solved on some level. he needs to create opportunities for a character to do something, and them have them do it. from there, obv good guys win bad guys lose, thus a success is created. he seems to be under the impression that if naruto and sasuke don't annihilate the majority of akatsuki** and solve most problems in the war then somehow that lessens them as characters. which is wrong.

it wouldn't lessen them, it heightens who DID do it.

1) my favorite example of this just happens to involves sasuke (see, ruining the women. everything his fault).

sasuke's too strong. reactions. they return home after the failed mission.

sakura: Mopy McMope waah waah im so useless waah sasuke come back

naruto: waah waah...what was that kakashi? training? good idea!

sakura: oh, naruto's training...i think i'll sit on my bed feeling sorry for myself which is technically out of character since when sasuke first left and i couldnt do anything i went to tsunade in an effort to be strong. but no, no i think ill just mope more instead of be productive. afterall, 1 step forward 2 steps back is the best way to reach a goal! afterall, wheres bettering myself gotten me?

seriously, that whole thing really ticked me off. she didnt do anything after the mission. nothing. even when she new naruto was training she did nothing. which IS technically out of character. yep, thats right folks, sakura doing nothing is out of character. its like kishimoto was all "whoa, dont want her to actually be likable, better take this down a notch. or two. or ten"

so eyah im not saying they should be written less like girls and more like boys, im saying he needs to write them as though he was writing for the males that he seems to have no problem portraying in a positive manner

he needs to give them something to do, he needs to have them succeed, and he needs to not have them be stupid and react terribly to situations.

**sure some others got some hits on akatsuki and some others got to take out some zombies (the impressive zombie take outs involved gaara or NEW guys. gaaras fine, but a kage. the new guys **** me off though). but of the 10 members

2 were taken out by naruto

2 were taken out by sasuke

1 ALLOWED himself to be beaten by sakura and chiyo

1 got killed by guy (while them having a hand in it is fine, i dislike the sensei and other adult ninja defeating them alone)

1 got taken out by shikamaru

1 was taken out by one of their own (tobidarato vs konan)

1 WILL be beaten by naruto most likely, but is for now still alive

1 is still alive and is being used as an army and is thus losing to people right and left, but mostly naruto. and part of the original was killed by sasuke. so yeah

this is not a good track record. what was especially cool about the beginning of part 2/shippuuden? the fact that these guys were so imposing that you literally needed more than one person to be fighting them most of the time. deidara took out the kage of a village, sasori needed 2 people, and he still had to allow it to happen.

in fights 1 and 2 hidan and kakuzu were fighting an entire ninja team, and thus were outnumbered 2 to 1. kakuzu was only technically beaten because of a group effort. rasenshuriken cant be spammed all day long (well, back then) and it can apparently only kill kakuzu twice. and he needed to die 5 times. naruto couldnt have "saved the day" if not for the efforts of kakashi and team 10 (mostly shika). hidan was defeated solo, however he admitted to be the slowest in akatsuki and he was shown to be pretty dimwitted so thats somewhat of a pass. at the very least he shown he meant business on multiple occasions.

then sasuke started fighting akatsuki =/ see, he DOES ruin everything.

because of him not only did fighting akatsuki go from a team effort to a solo effort,, but it even REVERSED. he may not have done a lot, but tobi did plant bombs for deidara, meaning for all intents and purposes, it was deidara and TOBI vs sasuke. pain has multiple bodies. tobi had 6 jinchuuriki with him. itachi and kisame were the lone exceptions to the change. but even then its somewhat arguable since itachi wasn't really trying to win and kisame sorta DOES have a partner since we learned samehada is alive. and even if you dont want to count samehada, he was defeated by guy.

by guy. yes, he's awesome. i'll be the first to say that. love the guy. however this story is about the young ninja of leaf village, not the sensei. they can help like kakashi did vs hidan/kakuzu. but the focus shouldnt be on them when fighting important bad guys unless theres enough badguys to go around...and with a 10 member organization, there really isnt. so guy, in essence, STOLE kisame from 'insert someone from naruto's generation here'. they now no longer have the chance to play a part in his demise.

and then theres the new guys. ugh. its not a matter of not liking them, but for the love of crap kishi, you havent given most of naruto's friends a turn at being awesome for a loooong time...and now you bring in NEW people. and the worst part is he's giving them stuff to do. not much mind you, but everything people like darui do is less things for neji tenten lee hinata kiba shino chouji ino and sakura to do. even poor temari and kankuro.

its basically the same thing that happened with kisame. the new people are stealing these opportunities from them.

he handles gaara well. honestly im thinking kishimoto secretly wants sasuke gaara and shikamaru to bend him over a- err anyway. but, while cool, its still not right since, even if it has been a while, gaara has had his. he lost, but the deidara fight was pretty cool and thus he should go closer to the bottom of the list. but he involved gaara several times and continues to do so.

anyway thats that.

I'm not about to start arguing or debating on such an insignificant topic. All anime, I've already seen that quote before. He sucks at writing females. But based on nothing but the roles of the females, Sakura is not useless compared to others.

I actually was gonna TL;DR them, but he makes some excellent points here. Especially in how to fix why I (and a majority) find sakura useless.
Kishi does have some pretty BA and good female characters (IE Temari) but that's just 1-2 out of the like 10-15 he has written (and thats manga only i'm counting)

And yes, I will also agree Sakura is most definitely NOT the most useless female. TenTen is, then Hinata (my poor baby *Frown smiley*) Karin, Sakura, Ino, and a few others that are pretty hard to rank. Tsunade is roughly at the end, like right under Temari and tayuya, but only because she is a sannin and the hokage.
For the most part I just think what was said above is the best answer:

Lol almost all the girls suck well, cuz kishi sux......i miss early shippuden, except for the consistent pattern of building an otherwise unknown/unused character up to awesomesauce levels and then killing em ie(chiyo, gaara[even though he was revived], asuma, jiraiya)

IM calling it now, Zetsu is the real obito, fused with Hashirama cells.

New idea:

The only way to save Obito's dying body was to turn his soul into a zetsu and use his crushed half to make a quick zetsu body. kept Obito's corpse and eye (not like he really needed it, he only had it for a day), taking time perfecting it for Izuna. Izuna is the real one who helped unleash nine tails, claiming to be madara. Helped Itachi kill the clan for the clan turning against his brother. like v for vendetta, the name madara became a mask to remind everyone of the betrayals against him.

also would explain how obito can keep an eye on kakashi without being in the village, and Tobi knowing "obito" didnt return to the village because of rins death.
