Hey shido itgets boring watching everyone playing card games. Mean while as the meijin its biased for me to participate. Though rarely I do. Never the less this is a conversation we can have outside of these forums if u want. Also I will get my own computer soon. I still thank you for ur help.

we have about 12 people play consistently at my locals, and "top cut" was something decided by the mejin and players; we figured that everyone would get a booster for participation, and top 3 would get like an extra booster or two because we would want players to start up a collection and feel like they at least can walk away with something. that all depends on your locals i guess. majority of our players like that system and it works because they get something out of it.

With 8 people and three rounds, there is only one undefeated person at the end of the third round. This is the basis behind all of bandai's number of rounds. Having 4 rounds with 8 people would mean that every person in the tournament had played each other, meaning that guy that went 0-3 would be playing the person who went 3-0 in the fourth round >_>.

I think a top 4 is okay for a tournament of 8 or more players. When my home store still had the player base, we would run 3 rounds of swiss then do a top 4. This allowed those who may have lost 1 of the swiss rounds an opportunity to win the whole thing. I know its just a local but making it just that much more competitive made it more fun for me. I had a handful of times when I lost to somebody in the swiss and then beat that same person in the top cut. It happened the other way around a few times too, but that was only fair in my opinion. |

I know my players wanted the same, but I made the requirement 8 people for the top 4. |

At my locals we have about 6-10 people, play 3 rounds, and the prizing is pretty good for locals. 1st gets a mat of their choice, the coin, and 3 packs.then 2nd gets the leftover mat and 2 packs.third gets a pack. The mats are only because the guy who runs the tourney has like a 100 and it's a better incentive than a coin that I lose within 2 days, every time I win one.
