Naruto 597....
Isn't up yet, but a story that's about 30 pages long is.

Naruto is on break this week, as is Bleach (hiatus) One Piece, Reborn, and a few other Jump series.

The long story is apparently the prologue to the new AU movie coming out. Looks exciting actually! Looking forward to Hyper Kakashi, Sexy Hinata, and Comic reading not so super genius Shika.

Chapter is actually out already. It has a bit of a filler type feel to it, though being manga makes it cannon.

Well technically, it is, but it's not 597, which is what I assumed SoH's bro was referring too.
The movie prologue is, well, just that, a prologue to a movie. It's not canon or anything.

I seem to recall hearing from a certain prominent poster a while back that "everything in the manga is canon, everything else is not". And this seems to be in the manga...
