You have to wonder though, how many different Samurais and Samurai techniques did we see in the story at this point to get a whole theme of Void element cards around them? Apart from a few scenes with generic Samurais who get easily destroyed by Sasuke and co. and the 2-3 Samurai that were at the head of the Kage Summit, there's nothing else. No special techniques, let alone jutsus (they're not ninjas) I hope we don't get something silly and made up just to fill up the space, I would much rather see new Block format valid Pain cards...

I think the samurai will be a bit more impressive than that. They'll be able to incorporate a few new "Ninjas", and a plethora of new Weapon Jutsus; they can focus chi into their swords, making for powerful weapon tricks. If they work in some synergy stuff for them, since they are more squad-oriented than individual ninjas, maybe the Anbu tricks of Non-unique or one deploys another, they could be pretty good. They've been seen fighting Zetsus, and they were efficient there (I know, that isn't where we are, but they aren't terrible; they were just fighting Sasuke, who was cheesing, at the time, same as if he attacked "regular" Leaf Village shinobi). Mifune could be pretty good, all by himself. I don't expect anything as broken as the original Sick (Six) Samuarai, from Yugioh!, but I do see some potential, nonetheless.

I rather hope that they go back, and cross the Void theme with the old Samurai card theme; those two cards looked cool, and I think it would be nifty if they could differentiate them, just for kicks. It should keep Void competitive, though it will need another element, probably Earth, to keep it afloat.

we probably only a set or 2 away from edo tensai so there is your void decks for a whole bunch of sets. you have to sacrifice somebody to bring those characters into play. seems viable to me for those to be void

You misunderstood what I said. In the story, the samurai are hardly a force to be reckoned with, and with the exception of Mifune, there are no other ones that stand out. They're just nameless soldiers that get their *** kicked by Taka.

If we get what you say, then it simply deviates too much from the story, it's made up, and I don't really like that. I prefer to see Pain reprinted, a new Nagato, the missing Pain animals, etc. They've played a much bigger role than Samurais...

to be fair im pretty sure even named characters have trouble with taka, also they went up against one of the main characters of the series so in pretty much every anime when that happens you usually dont win.

While I agree with you to some extent, this is a game based on the story. The design space of the game can't be restricted just because someone wants to stick to the story. I don't care what cards we get for void as long as we do get them and they can keep the element competitive.
