Kage IPO = Facebook IPO?
The IPO (Initial Public Offer) for Kages is in my opinion is “overpriced”. Even the Sand council is overpriced. Looking Back on one example: Sage Mode sky rocketed to $100 before release date. Making it worth purchasing multiple boxes knowing you could break even or gain by sacking/trading Sage Mode for things you really want. However look at Sage Mode now, down 40% with no sign of returning.
Recently within Set 25 certain cards are priced this way not based on rarity but based on the popularity and/or thoughts about the card when previewed. Smart? Yes. By Bandai increasing the amount of Super Rares and Rares in this set leaves the player/ collector in a bind; either you buy more boxes then usual to increase your chances of getting play sets or take the hit and buy singles. Seems like TnT and Bandai are hedging their bets. I also think TnT just doesn’t want to get burned like they did with Invasion when you could pre-ordered a set of Rasengans for just a little less than today’s price of one. Question to the community: Do you think the prices are right? Is there a Secondary market? And what are your predictions of what will fall in price and what will rise after release date? |

IMO the $34 Kages are way over-priced. Around $20 seems more reasonable.

I guess people missed out on preordering them for $15.00

If you were on top of it the kages were like 14.99 at one point and sand mission were 9.99. Guess the early bird gets the worm. You just have to be good at looking at something and knowing if it will be good and you will make out ahead. Like Genjitsu is cheap now but if that deck EVER takes off that card is gunna sky rocket.

It's not about whether people noticed that or not. I saw them at those low prices as well. The point here is, they're currently way overpriced, with prices based only on expectations rather than actual demand after the set release.
It's funny how the game became 2-3 times more expensive in the last 5-6 months, closing in on games like Yu-Gi-Oh! Good for people who can afford to buy multiple boxes, bad for everyone else who relies on buying singles to build decks. Hopefully all that is good for the game itself, but I have my doubts. |

You should be able to predict when a card's price will shift. For example, I purchased 10 Sabiru for $2 each, and 3 Sand Council for $8 each when T&T first put the cards up for preorder, because they're some of the best cards in the set, and I knew their prices would continually increase. Also, to comment on Sage Mode, how can you expect a turn 7 ninja to stay at an unreasonable $100 in a meta where the game is decided on turn 3? $60 is still an outrageous price.
Are the prices right for the new supers? Yeah, the prices are pretty accurate. After all, the naruto community themselves determines the price. Sure, T&T chooses the super's prices, but is based on how well those cards sell. The prices will drop after the set is out for about a month, though. |

I started playing this because it WASN'T Yugioh. Now the only difference is the chance of my deck disappearing at an event. Which my Push DID disappear, so I don't even know that. Looks like a certain Japanese number game is calling me. |

Sorry, but TnT's pricing is ridiculous. Has anyone noticed that the most expensive Deva Path is the one from the Path of Pain starter decks? It's cheaper to get the whole deck than the card itself. IMO they're just greedy and increase prices based on number of orders alone, ignoring rarity almost completely. Or in the case with Deva Path, it happened just after that recent SJC top 4 Void deck which played the card... We all know how expensive Monster Research was not so long ago, and it's just a Rare! I've seen some insane costs of Uncommons as well...
