looking to get back into the game...

i've been out of it since probably the 15th set and i wanna know what decks and cards are good now at this point in the game. any help would be much appreciated!

Don't take this one too seriously as I just got back in too, but if lightning is your thing look at the "Sage Mode" deck. the "S23" and "S24" means which set it comes from, and it gives you an idea of what the meta game for lightning is like.

As much as certain players would like to disagree, there is NO #1 deck right now. There are a dozen options to go with.

-Void (This has been topping recently)
Look up, in the block card search, "pain" and just read the few cards it'll show. You should be able to understand the general idea of the deck. Key cards would be TP3 Animal Path, Target Promo Deva Path, S23 Heretical Icon, and some S20 void cards. If you're looking to spend less than $150 on this deck, then buy a box of S23 (for Asura, Icon, and Almighty Push), then singles for the other paths.

-Mill (I played this at the GA SJC, where another mill deck topped)
Any card that allows you to discard from the top of your opponent's deck is good. Good key sets for this are S23, S21, and S22. You can buy the singles for this deck for under $80 as there are no supers. Well... 1 if you want Susano'o.

-NVS
Get singles for NVS, buy a box of S23 and S24, and let your imagination go wild.

-Typical F/L
Ugh. "The Meta Deck". Buy a Sage Mode, 3 Dragon Flames, 3 Rasengan, a Hydro-Pump, 3 4th Hokage [Supremacy]s, 3 Konohamaru Ninja Squads, a few Ink Fish/Leech and have absolutely no fun with the game. This deck's been winning everything. 3x Warhawk, 3x Make-Out Tactics, 3x Make-Out Paradise, 1x Naruto (pick a t3 one and go with it), 3x Monster Research. That's half the deck.

-Earth/Wind
Two directions to go with this. Medical (Reanimation, Karin, TP4 Sakura) and Hand Control (Detonating Kunai, Hinata [Reserved Character]). Both fare alright. They'll be better with S25.

Overall, wait until S25 drops on June 8th. It'll change the meta a little bit.
