Old player trying to get back in, Is set 25 a good set ?

Title says is all, planning on getting a case of set 25 but word around the forums is that the game is dying and that the prize support is the cause of it. With that in mind do any of the REAL players think this set is worth buying a Case for ? I've also been out for the past 6 sets so I was also wondering if anyone out there has also been out of the game that long and if the transition was easy, you know being able to adapt to the rule changes and such.

I played this game back in its early days, but quit after set 8 or so. Then a couple friends and I started playing again right after the relies of set 19. The prize support has been good in the past, but more recently seems like it's getting worse. I'm not sure what is going to happen from this point onward, but if you're looking to get back into the game, 25 looks like a good set. It should add a lot of diversity to the game such as try-element decks, but a lot of the mechanics that you would have missed such as ambush, surge, tracking, etc. have been pretty much phased out, making your return to the game easier.

Instead of pouring everything into one set, I'd get a box or two of Weapons of War (set 22), and one box of set 23 (Invasion) and then spend the rest on Set 25. There are just too many good staples I think in Set 22, depending of course on what element or playstyle you think you're going to go with.

If ya think they are that portent then I might just buy them along with the case

I left right after they made those mechanics and I was never really pleased by them, didn't think they'd get rid of them that quickly. How bad exactly has the prize support gotten ?

the prizing is struggling but it wont bring the game down, it's just one of the few problems the game has now and is getting all the attention.

For local prizes, the prizing is follows: http://www.bandai.com/naruto/?p=1457

Although the prizing was better in the past, the prizing will most likely be increased upon the release of set 25. Tylar, a moderator on these forums and a card designer for Naruto CCG who works for Bandai, has stated that if the sales for set 25 are good, then enough money will be set aside for prizing. This will probably be the case, since set 24, set 23, and tournament pack 4 all had exceptional sales.

As for purchasing a case, I would strongly recommend it. I myself bought a case, and I haven't purchased any boxes since set 20. This also a great time to get back into the game. The meta is the most diversed and balanced in the history of the game, including the meta for post-rotation in august, based on the cards we have currently seen.

I agree, set 25 will be the most popular because it is almost caught up with the anime and features the most powerful Kage's in the ninja world. Any fan will be dying to get their hands on even a card as a token so it will be worth spending. Like others mentioned, I would definitely try getting at least 3 boxes of Kage Summit, then getting WoW, Invasion and Sage's Legacy.

Prize support has been low however if sales start to pick up (which already have been progressing at a good pace) then we will start to see a larger prize package. But if you love the anime, love playing, love the experience then its a great set to get a few boxes. But if you really rely on the prizing to be the main reason why you play, don't invest in so many boxes.

don't even get me started on prize support lol...they actually took boxes/packs out of the prizing!!!! and instead put in their new crappy naruto video game (obviously it sounds way worse if u already own one) the only card game related prize is like a complete set 21 (its rotating) and they also r giving out gencon promos from last year (which r going to go down like 75% in price)....its bad

Are you trying to play Block or Unlimited? Do you even care about format? Either way, Lightning had the biggest boost in this set, obviously, so if that's what you're majoritively into, then this set is for you.
