no, sideboards are used for keeping decks viable in tournaments.

Most sanctioned tournaments for most any game allows them.

Sideboards are normally used if you are at a best 2/3 tournament.

The website allows for postings of tournaments with W/L/D and has rules for this. But the accepted standard for tournaments is best of 3 matches in a swiss style tournament.

There is not strict formula for bandai tourneys ATM so the Mejin's can do what is necessary to make it fun.

If you question sideboards ask your Mejin but I would assume that since the starter includes them that they are ok within Naruto.

(I know my players will be able to use sideboards in tournaments)

The physical tournament form mailed out for the release tournament, which I have previously referred to as the current report sheet, does not allow for best 2/3, which is what I stated earlier, if I was being unclear.

Ya, the prerelease sheet doesn't allow for it.

I don't think any of the official sheets have, but when I asked Andrew/James last time I saw them they said there's no specific info, just go with what works best.

Understand what you posted, just clarifying what I have heard from them in the past. I would assume that its Mejin's discretion unless either of them say otherwise.

Until Bandai releases official tournament rules, sideboard just refers to the 10 extra cards that come with the starters.

Well I think that side board should be allowed in some occassions, but yeah there's really no official rules about the card game yet, unlike Zatch bell. But it'll take some time. the card game for the US just came out.. .though the japanese card game has been out for about 14/15 sets... so we should corralate/ copy to japan's format more than seeing what we can do with the card game... O.o;;

Since japan's been doing a good job at keeping the game alive IMO so yeah

I wish a mod would respond to this instead of all this speculation by people with no official authority.
