Game Paradox

Today I was having a casual match with a friend. To test for an upcoming Chunin.

My question is this.

I have an in play Shiho and activate A matter of love. My opponent targets his shiho.

What happens? Since I cannot have a ninja in my village with the same name?

This also goes for cards like Mind Transfer Jutsu. If the only legal target is one I already have in play.

Your opponent would keep the Ninja since uniqueness prevents it from moving.

Ok. Another question would be. Does that mean I would receive another ninja instead, since it is prevented from moving to my village, or does the effect just fizzle?
