I've been playing around casually for 2 weeks now, and I am just starting to get the hang of what I thought was the game. Then I come on here to find out about new rules and cards and I'm totally blown away. I have so much questions this community doesn't seem rookie friendly sad to say. I'm just looking for one (or more) person I can count on to teach me the in's-and out's of the game.

I'd also recommend checking out the "Podcasts and other media" section of the forums. There are links to videos and articles that are quite informative there. It would be a good way to learn more about the strategy of the game. http://www.bandaicg.com/naruto/forumdisplay.php?f=51 Also, if you are ever in the western NC area, feel free to stop by my local events. I'll be more than happy to help you out with learning about the game. |

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate it. And yeah I like the organization of the Q&A forums. It's help a lot. I will definitely come out there and see what's the competition like.

getting into a new game in general is rather difficult if you don't have someone to teach you. The best way of getting into a game is going to a store that plays it on a tournament day and asking the person who runs the events to show you how to play. They will probably have a spare deck or someone will let you borrow their's.
A curve is the "curve" of your deck. It generally refers to amount of ninja's you have in each entrance cost, but can occasionally be used to imply the general flow of your overall deck. E.g., "If i hit my curve I win". If I had to guess, the origin of the term was probably someone looking at a deck list and seeing how many of each drop (the turn cost) they had in the deck. |

10-5-4-4-3-2-2 (t0-6) Missions and jutsu are usually good at 10 each. Once you become more experienced in combos and managing consistency it's really easy to break that mold. If you're building a trashdeck that's good. Like say you get a box or two of S22, that's probably a good arrangement to follow until you get the other cards you need from TP3 and S23 to flesh out the hollow areas. Missions force their own curve. A lot of the best missions are t2, so it'll generally fall that you have a mission curve. Especially in a water deck where it goes Make-out Tactics -> Monster Research -> Anko's Memories. Jutsu need to be watched as that's less of a curve and more of a deck thing. A Lightning deck can have super-expensive jutsu and drop those on t2. A Wind deck needs cheaper jutsu since Wind doesn't have many (Sasori and who else?) ninja with ambush, and has very little recoup. You should probably turn on your PMs too, by the way. |
