need clarification

i got into a argument with some dude at my locals about combat/support values of a ninja.

here's the scenario:
i attack with my ninja(example n-1262) and my opponent block with a ninja with a combat value of 2 or less and i use j-844 does my opponent's ninja combat value drop to 0 or to -X? 'cuz seeing the errata of j-830 that says "the target gets -2/-2 during this turn. Then draw i card for each target with 0 or less support". i believe that the combat/support value can be drop to a negative number or i can be wrong?

A Ninjas combat/support value can drop below zero (aka it can be negative).
