Look Naruto's dad was the leafs yellow flash that employed the Flying
thunder god technique. Technically Naruto's style of attack is perfect for lightning he's an unstoppable force he rushes and takes whatever's in front of him down. Also as far as Elemental affinities go what difference does it make for Naruto? The only wind tech he ever has used is Rasenshuriken. It's original jutsu was pure chakra manipulation a representation of pure energy which in nature is most similar to lightning. Now as far as Sasuke it's a bit different he's Uchiha and uses a variety of both Lightning and Fire based techs. So, it's a bit more reasonable for his element to be derived from that fact and even so he became a water ninja due to association with Orochimaru who has never been seen using a water jutsu himself. Elements don't have to stick exactly to the manga or Anime they just have to fit the character. Also Natural chakra is still Chakra therefore energy it comes from more than just the earth. Besides a Earth Naruto would look stupid.
