Any Interesting Release Event Stories?

Did anybody else have a "interesting" release event? I had two funny things happen to me while I was there.

#1: I was playing in the first round and a judge watching me came over and asked "Did you play this game before?"
"Kinda..."
"Can you clarify some things for me?"
I almost fell out of my seat, a judge was asking ME questions about how to play the game ? Now that was messed up.

#2: I had an opponent with a 4 year old daughter. While he's playing me he has to constantly get up and stop his daughter from doing something (ie: grabbing his cards and running off with them . I felt sorry for him but at the same time I was getting ticked because he was doing this about every 3 minutes.

I hope you all had good a good time at your respective release events, I know I did

I just remembered another:

#3: One of my friends was constantly bugging me about looking at my cards. Finally I told him:" Want to see something interesting? Follow my finger." I then pointed my finger up and to the left. He goes "What am I supposed to be looking at?" *BAM* I slapped him in the back of the head with my other hand while he was looking where I was pointing.
"What did you do that for?!"
"You gave me a headache, I just returned the favor ."

A sorta funny story, But it really got me ticked at first...

1) About a week before the official release date, I call one of my local card shops asking if they plan on holding a release event. They say that they will be holding one the day of the release and are expecting to get the packs anytime. So I call back the day before the release and ask again, just to be sure. They say that the tournament has been held up for some reason and that they will still be getting the product for the release event.

The day of the release, I go out and ask the manager of the store face-to-face about the tournament. By the time I get there, The tournament would be starting within that hour and not one single person is there aside from me. (Many of my friends are interested in the game, so I know that SOMEONE would have shown up)

He tells me that there were no plans for any release event and that they've only got one box of boosters for sale. So obviously i'm pretty ticked off.

I asked him about what happened, He told me some lame-brain employee was just talking out his *#$% and that he would be taken care of. So I decided I might aswell get a few starters/packs out of the trip.

But when I ask to buy some, the store manager informs me that they only have ONE FREAKING BOX OF PACKS. And that it's already on hold for someone else.

At that time, I was about to jump over the counter and beat the guy into a gross, disfigured bag of meat.

So I just storm out and take my buisness elsewhere.

I did however, manage to get a few decks and packs that day. So I guess it turned out better in the end.

So yeah, not too funny. But interesting it is.

i feel your pain, but its not hte stores fault in my case, the launch event came, my meijin got his promos and shirts, but no cards, no decks, and no word why not... poor shipping plans in my opinion. the four of us just kinda got surronded by yugiho players who looked at us like we were in the way

so all i got was the promo... and i dont even know where in phoenix that they will be carried, imk hoping my atomic orders some

I could not get to any of the prereleases because they were too far and plus that day I was going to a anime convention. They had a CCG area and I missed the sign up for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament. I looked at a table and I saw a whole bunch of Naruto booster packs, I was like OMG Naruto! Then I asked the person holding the tournament and he said those were the prizes...I was noo! I missed it! They had like 10 booster packs plus 4 starters . Also I got beaten in the Naruto video game tournament (the Japanese version ) Maybe I might check near by card shops if they might have some starters or booster packs later today.

Also I bought a Naruto headband from the Village hidden in the Mist (my friends bought like 4 Shurikens and 2 Kunais). I also saw tons of Cosplayers as Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura.
