This is definitely a mill mission.
World of fire and this card go hand in hand. Will definitely see play in my mill deck as a 2 of |

Mill decks finally have the card they've always wanted. Fading Touch shuts down a lot of stuff, and the more your opponent has in discard, the more it shuts down.
Aside from obvious mill applications, this card is great against Jutsu-heavy decks, as your opponent will have to choose carefully which cards they toss for Chakra. In effect, if your opponent isn't Growing or Platooning much, they'll quickly find it difficult to play any Jutsu and maintain their strategy. This card is double-edged, however - it also effects your cards, making you dependent on a high Ninja count and plenty of Permanent Missions to keep your own strategy viable. The remove-from-play effect helps as much as it hurts here; while it works to help players maintain a strategy, it also acts to telegraph a player's next move. There are ways around this card, such as Foundation Anbu (since stuff's getting removed anyway) or a persistent Recycle build. Still, Mill is the best application for this card, especially if you want to finish your opponent quickly. |

1. I already have cards that can see what's in my opponent's hand such as Itachi and Human Path TP3. Itachi, without a doubt, is played in every single fire deck, and personality I think that Human Path will be a staple after rotation. If I'm using this card to scout what's in their hand, I'd rather use Itachi and Human Path. 2. In order for them to even remove cards in discard, they'll have to get cards in their discard pile first. Well why not just play this with World of Fire then? Wrong. If you can even fit this in your mission line up I will applaud you. Like OneWingedAngel mentioned in the Ambush preview thread, all missions now that are played either A, can draw, B, search, or C, missions that are just absurd and counters a large amount of cards in the meta, such as Interruption or Comparative Strengths. Almost every mission played in competitive decks fall under one of those categories. You won't really play this in just fire, probably mill. So that's already something a long the lines of 3 Drift, 3 WoF, 2 CS, and 2-3 Paradise. That's already 10-11 mission spaces right there, so trying to make room for this card would be a waste of space and time. 3. This card can be used against me. My opponent can be bluffing by removing two jutsus, therefore making me nervous to swing, or removing two cards simply because they have to. Based on what you said, I would now be thinking that they might have those two cards in their hand, which goes back to my first point of playing better cards. Plus, if I had a biscuit or an anbu that I could get out with Kakashi, they are now gone because this card's effect is mandatory, and my curve is now screwed up. Cards like this that can backfire on the player using the card is not worth playing. |
