Where to find serious help?

Ok. So sometimes I post deck lists questions and ideas as discussion topics, and noone responds. Then, as i did with Kimonos, I try to attract attention by challenging the deck type. Having failed twice, what am I supposed to do? I want a solid method of confirming decklists, playability, strategies, matchups, etc. Where would I go? What would I do? All I usually end up with are trolls.

this for me actually brings up a good issue, because ive tried to get deck help before as well (on the dojo boards and other sights) and most of the time most decks get like 1 or 2 posts with semi helpful stuff but for the most part it seems like naruto players don't want to help other people on decks that much. Its like its some sort of super secret what decks do good and what would be a good idea for other decks. It's like just because they want to top 8 in a SJC that you cant help someone out with a possible deck that you would run because "OMG the secret on my top secret super teck deck got out because i helped someone on a board with there deck". i do agree that sometimes i wish people were more willing to help with deck ideas, or helping people make a decent deck.

Thank you, my ninja. Your input furthers my point, and is much appreciated.

I find that working w/ some1 in ur area is best. Find the 2-3 decks that topped in the last big SJC. Make them, then play against them.

the problem that sometimes comes with that is you might not know anyone in your area that plays, or not have a tournament relatively close to you (like for me id have to drive about an hour to get to the closes tourny). and for me i don't want to make a trip like that not knowing how my deck might fair against other decks. Only because paying for gas and cards an other things gets expensive and if your deck does horrible because you didn't have even a half decent deck then for at least me it feels like a failed trip. And also finding a good repository for top decks is hard (for me i still don't know where to find full deck lists, all ive ever been able to find are deck names and players). so for me i come to the main bandai site for naruto for some help, and yes sometimes you get those that legitimately help you, but most times you wont see any help for weeks at a time (i know ive seen some decks go with 0 help), I wish i knew more about the meta and whats the "best" cards to play but i don't thus why i seek help on the boards, but you still sometimes don't get the help you need.

I playtest. I'll wait till a theme is finished, throw together a proxy deck (like kimonos) and test for myself if this deck is good, needs work, or is just bad. Sundays are weekly locals and while there I get tips and combos among my group. Other then that, it's lurking the boards. I didn't even know about this supposed OTK taijutsu combo till I see a discussion on the general discussion forums.
I do agree that people should be MORE ACTIVE ON THE DECK DOJO FORUMS!!! I try and stop by when I can and offer help on decks, but some of the more veteran players would be way better to have on there. I want to help the new people since i was on my own for this game up until set 13 when i found my local tourneys.

That being said, you can't rely on people alone. Like the kimonos, had you just read that article on TPC blog, you coulda seen this deck had potential. My deck was 97% exactly how they specified, and after following tips on anko and using barrier prep, it got better.

TL;DR - more people need to help the people that post decklists, but at the same time experiment and learn to walk on your own and maybe you can instead help others.

A lot of ppl play on skype. Ik if my pc wasn't a complete piece of piece, i'd playtest a lot more. Imagine if u could just click something on ur pc and u were playing a naruto match? How much more would u play? How much better could u get? Like playing a v.game online for the 1st time, but then a few months, and a few monts more. That's what I think it'll be like. I bet the champs all skype naruto matches a lot.

Some people also play on the certain online website, but that place has glitch problems, and my comp sux, thus it crashes all the time on that site

*ShadowCaptain: For a solid method of the listed things, the best options if you don't have anyone in your area is to simply playtest yourself, and of course, befriend people on this forum and discuss such things via PMing, the Book of Faces, Skype, etc.

The support from fellow players in deck forums is the only thing I miss from when I played Yugioh. I don't understand why, but Yugioh players, not just the scrubs that troll the boards, were always willing to comment on decks by giving their suggestions and advice on your deck, especially if you helped them with theirs. It was eaier then because we were allowed signatures on the site I frequented and everyone always had a link to their most current deck(s). It seems that the Naruto community doesn't help eachother unless they are in the same playgroup. I'm not sure why this forum even has the deck depot. =( The "pros" don't use it because they don't want people to see what they are playing with and be able to prepare for it and/or copy it. And they don't help other people, this is only a guess, because they don't want to give other people a chance to be able to beat them. That leaves the inexperienced players to help eachother, and what good is that?

When I went to the deck dojo, I always felt like there always shallow questions that anyone can answer. I guess I'll drop by there more often even if there aren't any interesting decks up.

I could make something like this. Similar to redshark, maybe even better (enforce rules and uses that actual card pictures). Only problem is I'm lazy (could be aleviated if I have help), I've never done anything legit with networking, and I've never had a finished package neatly packed into a nice, easily distributed installer (that's easy though).

But yeah. Would anyone be interested in making a redshark kind of thing for naruto?

edit: Pointing me in the right direction would be helpful too. Like what libraries or tools I should look at. Worst case scenario I'll use java and swing, but I'm pretty sure there are better options.
