Don't have too. Yes, they apply it to all products. Seth said Salem store have tons of players with hundreds of store credit waiting for new product. So they apply the limit to mtg as well.

meh, to me money is money. no reason me or anyone should have to wait a certain amount of time to spend it on something. It's not money they "could" be making it's money that's already been made.

each time one of us enters a a tournament they pretty much are selling a pack or a set of sleeves. thus they are making money.

or maybe i'm just missing something here.

What about the customers who come to pay with cash instead and find out that the players who had credit bought it all?

Listen, personally and on a business side I agree and understand. Its been this way for a while and everybody knew this before this set. It happened with the last 3 sets.

why should the player who wins the events be penalized because the store doesn't have adequate stock? (i know it's tough for naruto, but with magic and ygo? there is no excuse)

the same thing you tell them if they come in 2 weeks later to do the same that the sets sold out seriously that was a stupid argument.

Sorry its not a poor argument, especially when you consider that the players are gonna continue to gain credit no matter what, the store makes no money if the product sits there anyway, so if the people paying cash didn't want them, the players with credit can grab them then.

Also, when you make threats of buying online versus at the store, then you risk losing the store in general.

If you guys don't like it hell just stop carrying naruto, he told me this yesterday. And then you wont have anything to use the credit on anyway.

So I bought product and had decent pulls. I was happy with 3 boxes. 1 mifune and 1 tailed beast bomb.

^horrible, illogical argument (like i said, the store owner must be religious). Store credit IS money. I don't know how many times I had to say that to Larry yesterday, but he wasn't getting the concept of credit being money from his customers that is held for one specific individual (it is almost exactly like a gift card/certificate). Players who pay in credit don't get a discount of any kind; so paying with cash is not advantageous to anyone or anything.

Ok, try to do something Larry couldn't do yesterday (his response was "that's just the way it is" aka religious logic) -- explain to me the difference between 10 players entering a tournament at $5/ea and then store credit of $50 being given out at the end to whomever. NOW consider I go to the store and buy a Harrison's gift certificate for $50 (which can be used at any time on any product, like store credit). Explain to me the difference between the two, please. Both are money in reserve. The store "gets" $50 in all cases. Please do not give me that ******* response "It costs money to run tournaments" because it doesn't, so don't get me started on that pitiful retort because I'd rather not waste time disproving that argument in a minute's time.

Larry was telling me the main reason we are not allowed to buy new set product with credit (until a MONTH passes - it used to be two weeks) is because MtG players would burn all their credit on new set and then "trade in" singles to the store (gain credit and to do it for the next set too, etc, etc) and the store didn't make money off the singles. My response was "Then don't buy/trade for singles". Larry just shrugged and said "If you don't like it, you don't have to play here" (again, horrible retort since me playing at the store has nothing to do with trying to find the logical justification behind why credit is not money)... He must be a Christian with that kind of logic.

The store charges $90+ per box (which is way above what it should be). Do I need to go any further? That is the highest I've ever seen for any store, ever. It is a scam and he knows it is. No one was making threats that we would boycott his product; we just all acknowledge Harrison's is run by a bunch of people who did not get a business degree from college and have no concept of the idea of business. The packs are $4 pretty much every *normal* place you go; and they mark it up to $4.50/pack... that is bogus.

I also don't appreciate how they ban certain CCGs (that they sell in store) from being played in the gaming area. They ban players just because they play a game (racist logic: one YgO player is a thief, so they all must be punished and viewed in the same light). I don't necessarily like YgO players either, but really? You're going to ban them from playing the **** game in your gaming area?

Also, the whole concept of NOT being allowed in the gaming area without a TO is ridiculous. I understand "people steal" but they have cameras and could do so much to prevent that from happening... so, so stupid.

The store is a complete joke and has become worse and worse as the years have gone on. I am HOPING that with the new store next month (and new location) that things will be a little better. If he stops carrying Naruto then that is when I burn my $100+ store credit on sealed MtG boxes and sell it on eBay to get cash. OH, I mean.. sorry... Harrison's logic: i meant to say I will get "PayPal dollars" which obviously isn't the same thing.
