Just watched the Winners deck tech.

It's an interesting deck.

It was very well prepared for the event in my opinion, it has the ability to:
Play Pump T4
Get out more ninjas (big ninjas) than your opponent
See your opponents hand
Get around Will of the youth WHILE playing Pump
Can play Drift
+1 Draw power and Tutors

Yeah, all of that is true.

His card choices were correct (all the way down to that Kabuto that probably won games).

Congrats on the win Winters.

*everyone else: Yes, its a solid deck. If goal is still block legal (think it is) that seems like a better choice over that itachi. But that seems like the only odd thing about the deck.

*veazie: As much as the deck is solid, I feel like you'd be winning jutsu chains against it nearly every time. Was wondering how you feel it would do against yours in a match up/what is it that i'm missing that puts it over just a solid deck.

Itachi Anbu is put in play by kakashi (Goal isnt) and knowing your opponents hand is CRUCIAL. Getting the BRs isnt even necessary with his effect (although nice). You know exactly what to charge down to and have all the outs to your opponent.

I actually played him (my only loss in swiss) and game 1 I beat him because he missed his 1 drop and I tempoed him. Game 2 and 3 he drew pretty nutty with Naruto R chain JLDC and I didnt hit a Comp Strength or KPS all game (2&3)

This.

Ive been running a fire wind deck for about a month, and even tho it has a bit of lightning in it, that kakashi itachi combo is pro.

Its a good counter to the HP heavy meta when you have a strong ninja to drop another strong ninja with a great effect.

There are ways to make his effect even more utility than just a one hit pony also. Its my next experiment.

My bad on the itachi, forgot about the anbu bit.

That's interesting that it was that close though. I don't think your deck is ridiculously over powerful but that it does some pretty crazy stuff that you need to go out of your way to deal with or find a different way to threaten you to come out on top. Usually steady, solid decks do well but don't go all the way b/c they can't do that sort of thing/don't really excel at anything that the opponent needs to deal with but just tempo them out over time. Do you feel he was successful against you b/c he was just able to wear u down with all the high end squads/constantly rebuilding field or more that he was just winning the jutsu chains that matter, or something else entirely?

The way I see the 2 decks it just seems like you should be able to push him end game and follow through quick enough that he'd have trouble recovering, where it would be a contest of if u can win before he can regain field presence. Even after that if you could still push out another destructive chain it seems like you'd have the win.
