Naruto Cup: Round 12 Uchiha Sasuke vs. Hyuuga Neji

Sasuke: Sasuke is at full power, healed to 100% after his battle with Naruto at the hospital. No restrictions. Neji: Neji is at full power, healed to 100% after his battle with Kidoumaru. No restrictions. Naruto and Gaara won the previous matches. In this battle of genius-level doujutsu-users, which will come out on top, Byakugan or Sharingan? It's time to duel!

Sasuke would be forced to fight at range in this fight, relying on Fireball Jutsu and Phoenix Flower Jutsu. Those are both attacks that Neji can either flat out avoid, or block with rotation.
If Chidori can hit faster than Neji can start rotation, Sasuke can win. But I don't see that happening, since Neji knows about it due to the info before hand. Neji wins this one, and it's a bit more of a wash that I think most would think.

Sasuke lost this one only by a little.
If his sharrigan was completely awaken he would have won, but no, neji has this. unless sasuke can use chidori and trick neji into not using rotation.

curse mark still makes sasuke quite a bit more powerful. i mean when we first saw it, ino commented that she could actually feel how powerful his chakra was IIRC
i think it would definitely push his speed over the edge to be faster then neji. and seeing sasuke coming is one thing, but being able to do something about it is different. lee vs sasuke proved that seeing the opponents moves isn't enough if your body can't react to it. i mean, nejifan, you said that sasuke pre chidori is probably roughly a 2-ish right? well lee is faster than sasuke with his weights on at that point and he wasn't able to fight against the sound team, but when sasuke woke up he just destroyed them. and he's even faster than then that 360 degree vision can only do so much not to say neji can't win, but i think you guys are seriously underestimating sasuke in state 1. i can understand why. i mean he's only actually used it a few times. the first time he was built up to be pretty badass. the second time was against gaara, but seems even the weakest bijuu amps his host enough to be better than state 1. its understandable he lost. i mean he was essentially fighting against someone with a super curse seal. then he used it on naruto and kicked his butt...but it was pre kyuubi mode and after that we didnt see the CS again till he was going state 2 then after that in shippuuden we always saw state 2 or partial state 2 but itsstill a big power increase not only that but sasuke has range. im not saying that's GG, but that is something. so he's faster, has a super deadly attack, and has range. i dont think this is so cut and dry in neji's favor like you guys think Last edited by hahonryuu : 11-08-2010 at 04:00 PM.

Well i think Neji has this, if only by a little. Sasuke's big attack drains him a lot and rotation most likely blocks it. More then that, it also reflects some damage back <if the attacker is close, which sasuke would be> so he may very well end up wasting 1/2ish of is chakra just to get banged up.
If he doesn't use Chidori then his only real option is taijutsu, fireball, phoenix flower, dragon flame, and wire stuff. Taijutsu: To go toe to toe with neji in taijutsu is laughable. Even Lee apparently doesn't think he could take neji without opening up several gates and using the big lotus. And the Neji he believes he needs that for is actually weaker than this Neji. So unless the curse mark ups his speed and strength up to the point where he's basically using 3+ gates, which is doubtful, taijutsu isn't much of an option by itself. Fireball/phoenix flower <which is basically a bunch of little fireballs>: It wouldn't be impossible to get him with this, but how much damage is that really going to do? And I mean that for real, everyone either dodges it, or blocks it and takes no real damage <like cloaked naruto charging it head on>. It would help, but this doesn't strike me as a "finish him!" kind of attack. Wire fighting: Also not impossible, Orochimaru may have been holding back but he was still fighting on a level that was higher than your average genin, and he still had his experience and still got caught. And the wire could be used similarly to kido's webs to stop him from rotating. But still, the only time we've seen sasuke use this is against oro, who was indeed holding back and was just testing him...so I wouldn't call this a done deal. Dragon flame: Seems to require touching the enemy or connecting to them through wires/something else. so while it, like Chidori, would be a "finish him!" move. getting close to neji doesn't seem to smart in most scenarios, so the wires are his best shot and that seems iffy. Other: Sasuke is pretty good at fighting, taijutsu or otherwise. He makes good use of his tools whether they be wires, shuriken, or low level jutsu. If there is a tool in his arsenal, he'll use it and abuse it to levels matched/surpassed I think only by Naruto, Shikamaru, and maybe kankuro <amongst his age group anyway>. but tricky "get behind the enemy and attack from there" kind of things don't really work here. not very well anyway. Not on what we know as of now. In the manga, were these two exact versions of them were to fight, Sasuke would probably win, and not <just> because he's the more important character. The kids got game. However these two have never fought, so its hard to say how sasuke fighting style would fare against Neji's. But not knowing that, just going off what we know now, i just can't see Sasuke having the better shot here. It feels like everything Sasuke can do is too situational. Neji seems like the more consistent one. We sure as heck know how his attacks would effect sasuke, we know he's better at taijutsu and knows a fair more dangerous form. We know that in general his fighting takes less of a toll on his stamina than sasuke's, save for his weapon fighting. Neji has this. I think seeing this fight would be pretty good though. ok its this simple it all comes down to this sasuke wins why he has state 1 so we all kno neji has has rotation ok well here is what happens neji will be force to use rotation do to the fact that sasuke will use fire balls and we all kno sasuke has great aim and neji cant dodge cuz the man hit haku with it lol and no one is faster then haku said zabuza once sasuke runs out of chakra he will use state 1 cuz thats the only way he can use state 1 once thats why oro had the chakra eating guy fight him so he can active state 1 and by dy sasuke spaming fire ball neji can only do rotation for so long as we seen in the fight with kidomaru cuz it takes a toll on him which means it will come doing to a straight up taijutsu fight but sasuke will have chakra while neji no so much so sauke will come on top cuz if any thing state will active just like in the fight of naruto vs sasuke case close and i hate sasuke so dont think im a sasuke fan boy Zabuza all day! LOL
