chidori's area of effect isnt big though. it would make a hole a bit bigger than hand sized...and the dome "heals" itself AND sucks out his chakra. he can already only use chidori a handful of times and still needs chakra for sharingan and stuff. getting trapped in the dome is bad news even if he does break out

still not a big deal though, I mean, all he needs to beat jirobo is simple taijutsu. as long as he can get out of/stay out of the dome, he wins. even if he used 85% of his chakra to get out of the dome, that 15% with which he could use standard taijutsu should be enough.

would it though? getting in close to someone, even if you are much faster <and man is sasuke much faster> you face a decent risk of getting hit by the enemy. and sasuke may be much faster but jirobou is sooooooooooooooooooooo much much much much stronger. he could break sasuke like a twig. getting in close, unless its for a decisive blow <that would, i would assume, involve a hand covered in lightning> getting in close doesn't seem smart. especially since it seems like jirobo can take a hit pretty well.

if at any point sasuke would have to resort to pure taijutsu, his chances of success would have just dropped quite a bit. his overall chance wouldn't be terribly low, but it would drop a good amount.

I agree, but I don't think it would come to that. The thing is, Sasuke is very fast and he knows about Jiroubou's jutsu, so he is unlikely to stay in one place too long. If he were to be trapped, I think he'd be unable to break out easily, even with elemental advantage. Still, he could easily use his Cursed Seal and just destroy Jiroubou with a Chidori. Running out of chakra for that would probably end it, given Jiroubou's strength, but given the Chidori and Sasuke's speed, I don't see a problem.

you are kidding right? that's like saying the hulk could get a hit in on the flash. (yes, I realize that's an exaggeration, but you get the point). I've said it before and I'll say it again, speed is THE most important factor in close combat, more than twice as important as strength. even if jirobo hit sasuke, it wouldn't be enough to 'take him out' as jirobo wouldn't know how fast sasuke was (not prepped on taijutsu and never seen him fight before) so he likely wouldn't see him as enough of a threat to start in state 2. besides, if choji can take a few hits from jirobo, sasuke can take more.

I say that the big guy win...

fist Sasuke can't go level 2
second, Jirobo can counter all of Sasuke's attack with the earth shield
third, if sasuke get trap in the dome, he'll have a hard time breaking out without using CM
fourth, sasuke will most likely beat Jirobo at taijutsu and close range attacks, speed and skill over strength

this I agree with. 1 chidori would likely end the battle anyway.

1) no, no im not kidding. if a drained sasuke was forced to fight him up close with no more potential one shot kill moves left, then yes fat mans chances increase quite a bit

2) the sheer extent of the exaggeration made it a terrible example. the flash is like a billion million jillion times faster than the hulk. sasuke is, well, NOT a billion million jillion times faster than jirobo

3) he never saw him fight before? was he asleep when they first met him and sasuke had that little skirmish with the 4 of them?

4) 99% of the time, i would agree with you. but there is a balance needed. what good is speed if you can't hurt the opponent? what good is it if using that speed tires you out too quickly? if you can't control yourself well while going that fast? speed is tremendously helpful and a very powerful asset. but there's more to a fight then that. the flash isn't exactly unbeatable

5) he knows sasuke has his own curse seal, that right there makes hima threat. i could see him at LEAST going cursed mode right away, if not state 2.

6) i had no idea you did tests to find out if sasuke can take a hit better than chouji. and even more interesting, the tests showed that he would be perfectly fine and not at all hindered after taking a hit from a character who is, barring lee/guy aren't gated out and chouji isn't popping pills, the strongest we've seen
