Naruto Cup: Round 6 Kidoumaru vs. Gaara

Kidoumaru:
Kidoumaru is at full power, healed to 100% after his battle with Neji. No restrictions.

Gaara:
Gaara is at full power, healed to 100% after his battle with Naruto. No transforming.

Temari and Naruto won their matches last round.

I could draw parallels to Spider-Man vs. Sandman here, but I won't. Let's just get down to business.

Gaara's advantage here is startling. His sand shield will stop Kidomaru's basic projectile shots, and his Shield of the Skukaku can stop the maximum power shot. Give that according to the rules, this match takes places in an arena similar to the chunin exam, there is plenty of room for Gaara to make sand like his did against Kimimaro, giving him tons of ammo. Even State 2, Kidomaru can't really do much in this fight.

Maybe if the spiders poisoned you, he could send them en masse into the shield like Deidara did, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

as far as we know, this gaara cannot make more sand. only vs kimi gaara and further are confirmed able to do that. this is vs naruto gaara. speaking of which, no shield of shukaku either

If that is the case, Gaara would still be able to use Skukaku to stomp the daylights out of Kido if he loses consiousness. Kido's shot would have to be full powered, and accurate enough to instagib. I don't see it as being likely.

he can't use shukaku because he isn't allowed to transform...basically all he has is his normal stuff that he used against lee and sasuke <not in the forest vs sasuke, in the arena vs sasuke...not that it matters, he didn't do anything new against sasuke in the arena anyway. you could honestly just say this gaara is the vs lee gaara>

A: since the manga explained HOW gaara creates more sand, it is technically possible to say that this gaara CAN do it. Just because he didn't technically do it yet in the manga, doesn't mean he isn't capable. I'm certain that this gaara has the capacity to tunnel into the ground with his sand.

B: shukaku is a separate entity entirely, and therefore doesn't qualify as transformation. while I agree that shukaku should be off limits, your reasoning doesn't work.

C: even WITHOUT the creation of more sand, I don't see this being a problem for gaara in the slightest. the sand auto guards, so he can't be hit from a blind spot. and gaara can check the angle of the arrow (provided kimi lives until state 2 ) to find out where he is. also, gaara's sand is fast. lee couldn't even dodge it that well until his weights were off, and he's faster even with the weights than kido I believe.

B: yes. shukaku =/= possessed mode. possessed mode is a transformation yes, but releasing shukaku fully is not. just like when bee is fused with the 8 tails, I don't consider that a transformation.

C: but like I said, it doesn't really matter because he needs neither.
