Your Favorite and Why

It's time to breathe some life back into these forums.

Let us have a discussion about our favorite characters and why they are our favorites. No simple answers like "Tsunade, because she's hot". Actually think about it. Do you like her fighting style? Find her impressive figure belies her brutal strength? What of her emotional strengths and weaknesses? Personality?

I'll start.

My favorite, as many of you may know, is Aburame Shino. The little bits we see of him appeal to me. He has sharp, angular features, pale skin and delicate, almost feminine hands. The fact that he uses insects as weapons is what drew me to him. I've always had a morbid fascination with creepy-crawlies. But to him, they are not just weapons, they are his "prescious insects". He's very intelligent and though quiet most of the time, he will go on rants about his strategies and how he is analyzing a situation. He suffers from depression constantly, as he is always the last to be mentioned, or not recognized or included at all. Though, the fact that he is not memorable speaks to an amazing potential as a ninja.

I'll start.

it's because shino is actually kinda lame, idk i don't like ninja's who don't do any or much of their own fightning. In shino's case the bugs do all the work.

I don't really have a favorite ninja though, idk maybe rock lee. mostly because he has no ninjutsu and relies on taijutsu, works his *** off but can still somewhat keep up.

So, by the same logic, you would be saying that you don't like Shikamaru, either?.. and somewhat, though to a lesser extent, Kiba? Though, Shino has shown that he is quite the strategist and can dish out a proper punch when it is needed. Yes, though the bugs do most of the work, Shino is the one that gives them the commands and he treasures the little buggers.

Oh, and I forgot to say; I like Lee, mostly for his attitude. He's so sweet and hyper and hard-working.

Kimimaro. He was practically dead and kicked naruto, lee, and gaaras a$$3$. He has the most unique and amazing kekkei genkai, scared the siht out if the sound 4 and was orochimarus most elite ninja. He was also one of the two people able to calm Jugo down which isn't that impressive but is still cool.

I don't like shika at all...he's a lazy boring character to me. If I wanted to read about mind games, i'd go read Liar Game or Death Note. No doubt shino is powerful, i just don't like the style.

Wow. I think you're the first person I've met (besides myself) who doesn't like Shikamaru! I don't hate him, I just don't like him.

My favorite ninja is a tie between Kankuro and Kiba.

Kiba because of the feral idea behind his attacks. He starts off with simple, animal based taijutsu with Akamaru, but when he needs to kick it into gear, that double headed wolf is a beast. I'd love to be able to kick that much ninja butt with a dog, but i'm more of a cat person, so if I could make that work instead, that'd be great.

Kankuro because he brings a different form of tactics to his fights than ninjas like Shikamaru and Temari. It seems like his puppets are never the same from battle to battle, which shows the time and effort he put into making them the perfect killing machines after Sasori created the main three.

Good reasoning.

I kind of have to like Kiba. He is my favorite characters teammate. I love big dogs, so the fact that his partner is one just makes him all the more awesome. I want a St. Bernard myself, but my mate hates dogs with a passion, so I don't think I'll ever be getting one. But just thinking about running around, playing with a big, fluffy dog, an animal you don't have to worry about being too rough with, an animal that knows when you are being playful and will only nip lightly, just sounds like so much fun! Not to mention, if you are kind to it, it will protect you in return!

I like Kankuro as well, but, while the puppets are unique and it does show a lot of care, time and effort on his part, they just seem (to me) like they'd be a hinderance in battle. Kankuro is kinda hot, though...

But Temari is by far the most attractive of the sand siblings. She's powerful and mature.

I did like Sasuke quite a bit until just after Itachi. He was pretty cool until the spiral into insanity. When he was like "Time to kill Danzo because of what he did to my family" I was like "Cool makes sense. Go for it bro." Then he's like "ALL OF KONOHA MUST DIE".... Really guy? REALLY?

I'm currently into Suigetsu quite a bit. He's shown to be quite powerful when facing Killer Bee and taking out State 1.5 Jugo pretty quick. His dream is still better than like everyones combined.

I dislike Sasuke on principle. Yes, bad things have happened to him, but that doesn't make it ok for him to be an arrogant jerk.

I kind of sympathize with Itachi in a weird way, but I won't get into that.
